From the man of the house: my wife got me a 3-pack of these recently as a gift. I wear an XL glove and these fit me just right -- snug, with room to break them in. We have a large veggie garden and orchard, and I'm building a 30ft long pond with lots of rock work, so I go through a lot of work gloves. I've had some that cost $30 a pair, and I wear those out as well. SO -- might as well get leather gloves that are a decent price, knowing my fingers will come through, and that's the end of that glove, long before the cuffs etc. wear out.
These are decent quality for the price. The leather is a type of suede, which means it's not going to last forever, and while I've only been wearing the first pair of the set for a couple of months now, I'm predicting that the index fingers and thumbs are likely to wear through first. This set breaks down to a cost of about $6.30 per pair, so that's not too bad. However, at the same time my wife got me these, she ordered a different set of 3 as well. She didn't notice that they are both made by the same company, Forney, so I decided to compare them. This is the other set: Forney 53183 Cowhide Leather Palm Premium Men's Work Gloves, X-Large. I've studied each type up close, and apart from the color scheme, I think they're the same glove. However, that other orange/green set is cheaper by nearly 5-bucks, so that's a consideration. However, the orange dye has come off on my hands when I work up a sweat, so that's something you want to think about. It's not a big deal, but I haven't had the same issue with dye transferring from these predominantly gray gloves.
Overall, I think the price of $6-and-change a pair is good (if you're able to get free shipping), so these are...
Recommended.
Purchased as a Father's Day gift for a guy with XL hands. He has a big hand and long fingers and these fit perfectly! The leather was a bit stiff at first but that was to be expected for a working glove. He has put them to the test outdoors and they have become more flexible and he doesn't seem to mind the thicker fabric in the heat which is most durable. I am most pleased he liked them!!!!
I have used these gloves for years. They are sturdy enough for jobs around one's property, gardening, raking, digging, planting---anything which will soil or chafe one's hands----, but these will protect them nicely. And no, they are not waterproof.
Don't expect them to last if used a lot in a heavy environment.
i was pleasantly surprised when these arrived. the leather is soft and not the cardboard like leather i usually see in similar work gloves in this price range. my only hope is that the softer leather is equally as durable as the cardboard leather type but only time will tell. also the stitching seems better.

These gloves are heavy canvas on the back and soft leather on the palm area . Just what I was looking for..
I've used one of the 3 pairs now twice while cutting brush in the yard. I have no complaints, I think these are fine for light duty.
This is the second 3 pack of these gloves I have bought. I find them to ideal for my needs. I have large hands and the X-large size to be a good fit. I Like the light weight and comfort. I use these gloves mostly for light yard and garden work and would recommend a heavier pair for heaver labor.
