![Carhartt Men's The Fixer Spandex Work Glove with Water Repellant Palm, Gray, XX-Large](https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51AIj3hexyL.jpg)
I have had these gloves for a couple of weeks now and so far, so good. I was looking for a thin glove (not too bulky) for light yard work, walking the dogs, etc. in the Central Texas winters. These gloves work well for my needs so far. I ordered the gloves in XL and they fit very well. My hands are not huge (a little over 3" index finger and a little over 3.5" middle finger) and the XL fits perfectly.
Pros:
I like the velcro wrist strap to snug up the glove around the wrist
Comfortable, not too thick/heavy and allows good movement. The gloves are thin/flexible enough, I can easily tie my shoelace with them on.
Fairly warm. These gloves are not heavy enough to use for extended periods of time in sub-freezing temps, but for Central Texas "cold" weather, they are more than enough.
Price. I got the pair for less than $15, not too bad
Cons:
None so far, though it would be nice if the whole glove was at least somewhat water resistant. The palms are supposed to be water resistant, but I have only used them once when there was any moisture.
Summary:
I definitely like the gloves. A good product for the price paid and they fit my needs well.
Great gloves. I received these for my 1 year position in Sweden. As my bike is my main mode of transportation, these come in handy when the temps start to drop.
On the bike at a pace of about 15 mph or 25km/h these gloves are effective to about 40 degrees F. They block most of the wind, which is why blow 40 degrees I switch to my other Carlhartt gloves that are meant for cold.
If I am not riding the bike and am just walking around or some some work outside these so far have proven effective to about 32 degrees. They might do better but we haven't had too many days below freezing yet.
As stated they are water resistant, Most people confuse resistant with water proof. These gloves will repel light water for a short period of time (so far I have tested up to a half hour), they are not water proof so your hands will get wet depending on the amount of water and the time.
Riding the bike in moderate rain for 20 min doesn't keep my hands dry but they don't get cold even at 40 degrees with rain.
The leather palm is good, give nice grip.
Most of all they are comfortable.
I am a commercial driver of tractor trailer trucks. My work gloves usually last about 5 to 6 weeks before they have a hole in them somewhere. Sooner if I am working on a flatbed trailer with the straps etc. I purchased these gloves in August and they are still great. No holes or even signs of wear. They aren't warm for winter but they still protect your hands when working around the trailers. If they get wet the defroster in the truck dries them out fairly quickly. I wish Carhartt made a winter glove similar to these, but I have yet to find one that isn't bulky. These are great gloves and if you are looking for something to use around the home, these might be a little on the expensive side but they will last for years with light work. I will definitely purchase these again.
They are well-made and provide good hand protection for light outdoor work. They are lightweight and provide for dexterity which is an advantage over the heavy insulated leather gloves I normally wear. My hands were not cold in 25 degree weather, but I was actively working. I cannot say if the palms are truly water resistant or not. The fingers absorb water so quickly that the entire glove gets saturated. I was pouring water into a livestock trough at below freezing temperatures and water just splashed back onto the fingers and soaked the entire glove in an instant. However, they do dry quickly and do not stiffen. Overall, I do like them but do not depend on them to keep your hands dry.
These are pretty decent gloves for light duty or wearing on a chilly fall day. I like that they're available in a xxl size, which is good since they run about a size small, and the full palm protection that they offer. However, I had to knock off a star due to the palm material not really being water resistant as advertised. I wore them during a light snow fall, and just gripping stairwell rails the palms soaked up water more than I was anticipating. The adjustable cuff seems sturdy enough and securely fastens to your wrist like you'd want, and they're easily taken off unlike some Carhartt brand gloves. Another plus (one that I was surprised at) is that I can I can operate my smart phone's touch screen while wearing them, which I'd say is pretty neat too.
Edit: After a few months I wore a hole through the finger tips and decided to turn them into fingerless gloves, even after cutting them the stitching did not fray. I'd say that's a pretty good testament as to how well these gloves are made.

Fits like a glove. Shocking right. I love the leather'ish reinforcement of these gloves. Adds great protection and work-ability in the hot spots of the hands. This is a summer set of gloves and not great in the rain. They will soak up water faster than a sponge and loose function. Go with a different material glove for wet season. But if it's sunny and dry, these are fantastic. Carhartt quality as expected.
Rock solid gloves! A lot of gloves blow out a seam after some hard use, but these are great. I don't use them professionally or anything, but I have a couple months and numerous projects and they have held up great. My last big project was breaking down about a dozen fallen trees after hurricanes Irma and Maria hit my yard in PR. Hard days and lots of tossing rough logs and branches. They are still holding together great.
I took these gloves with me to play Milsim Airsoft for a 24 hour event and loved them. The gloves hold up very well and keep the weather out. I did end up using some under armor liner gloves with these because of the sub freezing temps to keep my hands warmer. Down to around freezing they were pretty good, but much colder than that you would want a winter glove or some liner like I used. They are durable, while allowing for dexterity and protected my hands well.
My husband is in construction. This gloves still allow him to work without the bulk of GLOVES. They are also keeping his hands really warm. I recommend these to anyone. And the size was true to size.
The name says it all. These gloves are high-quality, fit true to size, and are very durable with stable stitching. I received them within the time expected.
