The photos here show a new filter next to a filter that I had running nearly 24/7 for 3 and 1/2 months in an apartment I just moved into. Anyone who is like myself and is constantly moving from one apartment to another NEEDS to have an air filter especially if there is a lot of carpeting that traps dirt, dust, microbes and bateria.
Most apartments have been lived in by several people for several years before you move in and no amount of cleaning can rid the apartment of all that the previous people leave behind (on a microscopic level). Other people's skin, hair, odors, and other gross things we don't like to think about get trapped in carpeting, cracks, paint, vents, cabinets, fixtures, etc.. I have been using Germguardian air purifiers for years with these filters and would never move into an apartment without at least 2 of them running 24/7.
The air is cleaner, smells don't linger, dust is minimized and mircrobes are removed from the air making for a healither respiratory system, a stronger immune system, and less irritations (such as headaches, dry eyes, sneezing, etc). Most of all it provides a sense of ease knowing that some of the gross stuff that the carpet releases gets filtered through this filter. It is obvious that it works. As the months go by, there will be less and less residue trapped in the filters as the air becomes cleaner and cleaner due to the costant filtration. Highly recommend!
Fits perfectly, and performs well. I've tried "compatible" filters, but their tolerances either make them fit loosely (resulting in rattling) or too snugly - I've never had a "compatible" replacement filter that fit perfectly, like the genuine OEM filters consistently do. The filtration of the compatibles seem comparable, but only if you got a good fit (the compatible filters that were too small seemed to have leaking around the sides unless I added some compression foam to it). The genuine filters really aren't that much more expensive than the compatibles I've tried, so I'm willing to stick with these.
They work well with the third-party compatible charcoal odor pre-filters (which I change twice per purifier filter), at least, so you can save a few dollars there.
One of the best risky purchases I've ever made. I have problems with both allergies and asthma. I wasn't sure if this would help me but it works beautifully! Notmally I was hacking up a storm every morning when I'd wake up. Whenever I have this running, I have the air blowing at me at night when I go to sleep. Since I've used this, I don't have trouble hacking in the morning and I'm not congested. It's great in winter too since there's always garbage going around to catch. The uv light will take care of that problem for you.
This FLT5250PT Pet Pure Hepa filter was an exact fit for our Germguardian AC5250PT air purifier. The filter also comes with a replaceable carbon activated pre-filter installed, so is a complete, ready-to-go replacement part. It was kind of pricey, but will supposedly last for six to eight months depending on the usage. We have two large dogs and this Hepa filter along with the UV light in our air purifier have definitely cleaned and deodorized the air in our second floor bedroom area.
I like the convenience of re-ordering this item from Amazon but was concerned about recent reviews stating this filter's new design is inferior. Reordered anyway. When it arrived, I compared it to mine and see no difference. They are both like the one that came with the GermGuardian when I purchased it. They have worked very well. We have two dogs and one's a giant Labrador (the ultimate test for any filter). Will continue to re-order this product.

Bought this for my son in PA who lives in a rural area. A groundhog died in an area of his house where he couldn't get it out. He could not live there for a couple of days. Asked me to order this item. Combined with the Earth Care Odor Removing Bags which he hung up in the basement which I also ordered for him, he could move back in after a 24 hour period. Great product!
The new filter actually has more pleats than the old filter although the carbon prefilter seems cheaper. You can buy a roll of quality carbon prefilter online though. The filter is just slightly to big, but didn't have to force anything shut. This filter works just fine. There's always 3rd party as well if it's really that big of an issue.
My husband has allergies really bad and was always complaining our house made his eyes and nose run. My son had the same issue everytime he came home. We purchased the Germ Guardian and within a week they were both much better. The filters are a little spendy but we have found well worth it.
I had no idea they made a pet version! I like it better than the normal filter.
Have been using the germguardian air filter for 2 years now and these filters have been doing their job great. I have a dog and a big family and these filters pick up a lot of the dirt in the air of small room. I have one in my bedroom and it helps keep a good amount of dust and dander out of my room allowing me to sleep more comfortably.
