I already bought 5 of these filters. Four of them went good and clean the air very well, even smoke (unfortunately we live in a place where they still burn sugarcane fields). But one went bad. In the photo you can see the difference. The bad one has a foam gasket that lets the air pass without passing through the filter. The good ones have rubber gaskets.
No need to worry, this is a OEM GermGuardian replacement filter. Germ Guardian changed there filter's. They now have a yellow housing (purple for the Pet one's) This one has the rubber gasket not the foam like the one I had before. Filters great! Will order again.
These seem to work good for my bedroom, I run the unit at a 2 or 3 all day and a 2 overnight. Filter turns a gross brown after a few months so I know its grabbing crap from the air. Also glad to see they are being innovative. this is my 3rd filter and things I didnt like about the last 2 are changing. One is the carbon filter while still not substantial is actually more of a filter material now. It used to be like a swiss cheese membrane on the back with large holes it is now a really stringy almost like furnace filter material which feels like it will do a lot better. Still wish the carbon filer was a bit better though :( Also they have added a nice foamish rubbery seal around the entire face of the filter so that there is better suction for the unit. One star off because I really wish the carbon filter were maybe 2x to 3x thicker but at least some changes for the better are happening.
Been using GermGaurdian products for about 2 years now with no complaints. There is noticeably less dust in the house and we have been sick less. Indoor seasonal allergies have all but disappeared, and even though we have two large dogs inside most of the time, the air inside still smells fresh. The filters are easy to install and are of excellent quality. They're a tad pricey, but worth it for what your getting. Can't recommend these enough.
I've been using my 2 Germ Guardian towers for 4 years and they are still going strong. Very happy! I tried the generic filters and there's no comparison. It's worth it to pay a little more for the Getm Guardian brand. This is coming from someone who has had asthma and king issues.

I've got chronic asthma and allergies. It's become worse as I've gotten older. I have zero affiliation with this company but let me tell you something.. You really don't know what you've been breathing until you run a matching purifier with this filter and take a look at it after a month or so, you'll say out loud "oh my!" when you see what that filter has captured. It saved my life and my lungs! Run with a humidifier, this filter and a guardian purifier will change the way you feel, sleep and breathe. I rarely need my inhaler anymore! Ten stars for this filter, which does the real work in any purifier. Trust me.. We were in need of a filter for our GermGuardian Air Purifier. Perfect match, just as advertised per models.We looked at other products but ultimately decided to go with genuine/original parts. Great decision indeed! This is our first filter order and will definitely purchase again from here. Packaging was well done, no damage whatsoever to the product and we received it on time.
At first I was very skeptical of buying the filters off amazon but there wasn't anywhere else really to get them. So to make sure I got the correct one I went to Germ Guardians website and typed in the model number for my unit, and it told me the exact model number for the filter. I typed this number into amazon and was brought to this. After almost 2 years of not replacing a filter because half the reviews said things about the filter being a knock off or not working / fitting, I realized it was time to change it out. I went ahead and purchased this as it seemed like a safe bet. The package arrived promptly, appeared to be a factory filter, had germ guardian logos and names all over it, and as I changed the filter, appeared identical. It fit great and works well. no complaints. I believe the reviews of those saying the filters are fakes or don't fit, and not purchasing the correct filter. As I did, I would recommend you search your model number and find the number of your filter to ensure you get the correct one.
We use this for our birds to prevent illness and reduce the pet dander throughout the house. It has significantly helped reduce the amount of pet dander we have even in our large living room. It has been a true lifesaver for my asthma. I would highly recommend this to all bird owners. The product is well made and helps keep our parrots healthy. Having clean air for them to breath makes us very happy customers and owners!
this is 6months of using the filter nonstop, I couldn't believe how much dust it has collected! I should have re-purchased this a lot sooner! Buy it! You will not regret it!
