Purchased this after first trying the Mueller Sports Reversible Thumb Stabilizer. There are three differences I noticed and like: The Vive doesn't cover as much of the wrist, the Vive is more comfortable to wear all day, and the thumb splint on the Vive is longer so as to cover more of my thumb, making it harder to use the thumb (and isn't that the point?) I.e., the Vive does a better job of immobilizing my thumb, however all other fingers move freely. For my temporary thumb tendonitis, this product works very well.
I give this product 4.75/5
I like this product as I developed tendonitis. The only 2 cons happened to the one i have, 1. the glue started to wear off from the thumb strip, 2. and i felt like there were pins or needles pinching me around part of the wrist. So i basically have to wear a guaz pad around my wrist to avoid that feeling.
I contacted the company and explained what I'm experiencing and sent them pictures, an hour later give or take, I received an email to confirm my mailing address for them to send a replacement.
And I gave them some advices on how to improve the product, and the representative said she will pass the message along.
And for those who are asking, can I still type on the computer while wearing it? Yes you can, loosen up the thumb strip lil bit and it can move. It won't be protected as much, and you won't be as fast as you were before wearing it. But You will evantually get used to it.
Thank you Vive health!
PS. I wasn't offered a free sample to review the product. What I wrote above is my personal opinion and experience.
Relief. That is the word for now. Works perfectly fine and does what it needs to and is designed for, not sure what others are complaining about honestly. I fixed the thumb strap once and now I can easily slide my hand in and out without constantly readjusting with just the hand strap being undone.
I have two of these, one for each hand. They work well on each hand but the location of the velcro may become an issue for some (see below).
I like the brace better than another manufacturer's that I picked up from a local retailer. It is comfortable and sturdy, and leaves just a little play in the thumb. The velcro stays are nice but I can see that they would snag and loosen on the two major pieces. The small velcro for the thumb area I haven't had snag and don't see that happening personally.
I think the best approach is to use the brace but to wrap around each major velcro wrap with one ply of self-adhering black tape 10-Pack, 2” x 5 Yards, Self-Adherent Cohesive Tape, Strong Sports Tape for Wrist, Ankle Sprains & Swelling, Self-Adhesive Bandage Rolls, FDA Approved, Black Color, Self Adhesive Tape, Athletic Tape . Each roll is ~$1 and should last a while since the only reason to wrap is to keep the velcro away from things that can snag.
Since I don't see "velcro" being a defect even as implemented, I am going to not deduct any points for it.
good support - would be better if it stayed in place. We had another product that was essentially useless and lasted only a day. The quality of this brace is much better. My only suggestion is that the velcro strap at the end of the thumb should be able to cinch a bit tighter. Not so much as to cut off circulation, but enough to keep the brace from sliding back toward the wrist. Also the velcro patch here is very small and wears out too quickly. It is still better than any other we have thus far found and we are on our second while we wait for my wife's hand to heal.

I have had tendonitis in the hand for about 2 years. I was wearing a thicker and bigger wrist splint but due to work I needed something smaller but that still did the job. My doctor kept giving me the thick ones and did not understand I WORK WITH SUITS and cannot button my long sleeve shirts due to them. So I was not wearing them properly or would wear it at night only. Finally with this VIVE splint I am able to wear it with my shirts and I don't have no problem using my hand. I actually felt way better and less pain coming from my tendon. Thus I am very happy. !!!!! Great job with the quality and It feels amazing.
I found it to be comfortable for the first hour, but then I have to move it around as it rubs on the place where the thumb meets the hand and makes the area sore. The Velcro holds well and it seems to keep the arthritis pain at a minimum.
I bought this for carpel tunnel and trigger finger in my thumb. I wear this during the day as it allows me to grip some things and drive. I would say that it gives moderately good support. I wear a much larger one at night that almost totally immobilizes my wrist. But this one is great if you need to function and give your wrist and thumb support.
I have developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome because I sleep with my hand curled and my thumb folded in. I purchased this brace to wear while sleeping. I have small bones and the fit was initially good - but as the materials all stretched a bit, it got too loose. I was able to shorten the Velcro strap (sewing it shorter), and it's working well again. It was really important for me to get a device with a firm "splinting" of the thumb to the outside of my hand. The metal (yes, METAL) inserts ensure that I am keeping my hand in a good position while I sleep. In spite of that, it is still comfortable to wear all night. The performance is great an my CTS has improved after just a few weeks of wearing this when I sleep.
I had a hard time finding "store-bought" thumb braces that properly immobilized my thumb from a repetitive-use injury. This has done the trick. The 'splint bars' are in the exact proper places to prevent me from moving my thumb in the direction which was causing pain. Other splints I had found had put the 'splint bar(s)' on the top and side, not underneath, where it was actually needed, or did not extend to the uppermost part of the thumb. I was able to wear this splint at work without hindering my typing and mousing usage. This brace is also very comfortable to use -- I use it when coloring/drawing to prevent re-injury. It's easy to get used to writing with this brace on. When my hand bothered me as well, I cinched the hand strap tighter for compression, and relieved the pain without medication. I highly recommend this product. (This brace can be used on either hand, but I used it on my right hand.)
Note: I purchased a second brace in a panic, when I temporarily misplaced the original one. Now I have a spare for when one needs washing.
