I use these for everything short of handling barbed wire. I have horses and chickens and an oil well I look after. So from handling firewood, getting a little crude on them while twisting a wrench or hooking up farm equipment, they protect my hands and I can still do fine work like starting a nut on a bolt. Without measuring my hands it's a bit hard to talk about fit. I wear size 12 boots and an 8 in a hat at 5'10, I can just palm a basketball and these fit like a glove, lol, seriously like a second skin with no room to spare. Maybe the basketball analogy works. If you can run the court holding the ball in one hand, get the extra large.
*update 5-15-17 A couple seams have come apart, one near my wrist, though I think i caught glove on something. But one of the thumbs is coming apart. Be it that I do get some crude oil on them, then rub them with dirt, it's likely it may have weakened thread. But ,I have had leather gloves last longer than six months before and will look elsewhere. Fine gloves if you keep petroleum products off them. I got a couple more months out of them before they completely fell apart.
***Fine gloves if you use them responsibly, no salt water, no crude oil.
I'd been buying pigskin leather driver's gloves at Tractor Supply, and I found these at a local store that was going out of business. I use my gloves mostly for outdoor chores and a lot of firewood processing (10-12 cords a year) so I needed something durable. These outlast the TS gloves and are still flexible and comfortable after getting wet. I have not yet work out the original pair but I always worry that a great brand of gloves is going to disappear from the market, so I buy one or two more pairs every couple of months when placing an Amazon order. They're not going to last forever but they get me through my chores and they fit well.
I really enjoy these gloves. They are just right for working around the yard and handling garden tools and gripping items. Some leather gloves might be a little thinner and easier to use, but for the price these are the best. You pay more for leather, but the leather just don't last that long when doing heavy work. I think these will last as long or longer than leather for a lot less money to replace when needed.
This is a decent pair of work gloves. The leather is thick yet soft. They feel almost broke in right out of the package. The sizing seems to be accurate. They've been great for gardening and fencing. Sadly, I snipped a slit in the left thumb the first day I had them. They're still great for handling fencing and lumber but not so great for digging in the dirt. I'll have to order a second pair. Not a fault of the product just a fault with the operator. :-)
Comfortable, fit well, very durable for garden work. Delivered perfect.

These are a replacement for the same style that I have used for years for metal working. The originals came apart along the index (trigger) finger outer seam. I guess from flexing when activating drills and chop saws.
I really like the gloves so I bought this identical pair. Maybe the seam is a little stronger on these.
great quality.. strong and not stiff
Great inexpensive gloves. I usually wear XL and these LG fit great.
Great gloves and great quality!
