DEWALT DGL523 Lighted Tool Backpack Bag,

DEWALT DGL523 Lighted Tool Backpack Bag, 57-Pockets

DEWALT DGL523 Lighted Tool Backpack Bag, 57-Pockets

I cannot describe how much I love this backpack. I know it is a little thing, but the two handles on the top are so great. usually when I pick up a pack with heave stuff in it, the zippers come undone and the pack spills open. the two handles on this keep that from happening.. Now , on to the pack itself- it has pockets galore, including a wide variety of sizes indie the back (the side with the shoulder straps. the zipper lets that whole flap to lay flat, with easy access to all your tools. there is also elastic inside to hold your tool handles securely and help the pockets keep things from falling out. there is ample room in the center for a drill, or other portable power tools you might need. The smaller flap on the front will also fully unzip so it can lie flat for a small work surface. All the stitching and the material is top notch, heavy construction and materials. the straps have good padding, and a chest strap keeps it on you. And then, there is a light. such a simple idea, makes a big difference!!

I have been lugging a one shoulder bag for many years and I'll tell you, it has taken its toll. Since the old bag is shot, I decided to try this back pack design and it's just the best. The load is carried evenly and there is little strain on the back or shoulders. Fits most everything that I use daily plus a bit more. It's well made and solid feeling. I like the built in light also.

I am very impressed. I was hoping that it would be durable and light which is a tough combination and it is. The light flips up and shines at the work area and when flipped down it lights up the tools inside so you can see what you are grabbing. One thing I noticed (checked for) right away was the cross strap on the shoulder harness. I have had issues with the cross strap disconnecting itself on other backpacks. This one is made very tough. Instead of clipping on the edge like most cross straps it surrounds each shoulder harness which makes it impossible to come off. If you have ever rode a motorcycle with a backpack you know what I mean. All of the tool slots make it easy to store the variety of tools I like to carry and I can keep my laptop in the middle. I have already received many compliments from my friends as they all have generic backpacks.

I'm a field technician and purchased this bag for work. Currently only had a tool box and the rest of the shop was using a couple dewalt carry bags and I finally decided to get a bag also. This held everything they normally fit into 2 bags, was comfortable to wear, and quality was great. currently loaded with just under 120lbs of tools and holds very well. the other guys are now planning to buy the same one and I'm probably going to get another one for bringing to the scrap yard.

extra: I really liked the rubber impregnated mesh pocket on the inside and the light will light the big compartment when shut.

I usually don't write reviews but this back pack is fantastic. I like it a lot better than the standard tool bags that we use in the hvac and electrician fields. It has plenty of room for all my usual hand tools plus my drill and impact driver. It makes carrying tools up a ladder easier too. Plus it is a heavier duty design than I thought a back pack would be. I would definitely buy this product again.

Description

The tool bag's LED light can be easily directed at work area or into backpack to help identify tools and parts. The 3 Levels of light output allow adjustment for wide area illumination or close-up work and has an output of 39 Lumens max. The tool bag has 48 Multi-use pockets inside and 9 outside to help organize your favorite tools, parts and accessories. The tool bag can hold a multitude of tools and accessories like drills, extensions cords, pliers, screwdrivers, wrench sets, drill bits, testers and much more. Nice bag, way more slots than needed-just cant see filling all of those slots and still being able to close the bag. It feels and looks very rugged. I'm a computer tech and its just a tad smaller than I wanted/needed, but I made it work (fit several screwdriver types, couple wrenches, 2 cat5 crimpers & strippers, cable tester, knife, scissors, 48pc 3/8 ratchet set, smaller dewalt 20v xr drill, small organizer with screws and such, and some spare network cables) its a tight fit stuffing the drill in, have to remove battery and put it elsewhere, but overall works for me.

I was intrigued by having a tool backpack as lugging heavy tool chests around occupies your hands and requires extra trips. I really wanted this to be my dedicated "honey do" back-pack (ie I keep my most commonly used tools in it).

Main issue for me is you really can't get large tools in the backpack without monopolizing the storage. For example, a 15" hammer will take up a big chunk of the main compartment.

Also, while the backpack does have slots and sleeves for various tools, there doesn't seem to have been much thought put into the size and location of the slots. I'd have thought DeWalt could have done better with its great pedigree in tools overall.

The light is a big plus and I use it all the time. I haven't had any zipper issues, but also haven't subjected the backpack to rigorous use yet.

Hopefully DeWalt will update the design and come out with a better version of this, as it has potential.

I am a car-less landlord, so I get around on the subway and the bus and need to visit my property to check on and repair things. I like the light, haven't needed to use it much but when I have, I appreciate it. Pockets are great. I will need to change out which set of tools I will need because it can get heavy to carry. I have been able to throw in a cordless drill, batteries, hammer and a variety of smaller tools.

Although I've only had this bag for a few weeks it appears that it will last forever. It has heavy duty stitching, the material is canvas. It is loaded with pockets for all your items and it has a LED light for inside and out, very nice and handy. So far I'm very pleased with this bag.

I've always been bad leaving my tools around because my tool boxes had no organization, were clunky, and uncomfortable to carry.

This bag is awesome. I've got all the essentials in it, easily organized. Front pack I put electrical equipment. Main pack has screwdrivers, impact drill, drill, bits, hammer, extra batteries, etc. Perfectly organized. Easily carried from one place to another, even when I'm also carrying material around to build.
