I am an Instrumentation tech and I've gotten almost a year out of this type of glove working at a chemical plant. I use these mostly for wiring devices or when I need the tips of my phalanges. I originally bought a pair of the mechanixs brand, they didn't last 3 months and were twice as much. I'm on my 4th pair of these and love them. The failure point is usually the sewn parts of the fingers, but only after repeated chemical exposures and washes. CLC has always made quality stuff for guys in my profession. I've been using their tool bags,
tool pouches & gloves for the last 12 yrs in chemical & power plant environments and have never had much trouble.
I just purchased a second pair of these great gloves. The first pair actually lasted through two years of heavy framing use. Pretty impressive. I don't know of any work glove that will last that long. The gloves protect your hands very well and are fairly comfortable and form fitted, maintaining a high level of dexterity.
On the down side... I noticed that the styling has changed a bit, with the thumb hole being larger in the newer gloves (both pair in size large). The two cut-off fingers are slightly longer as well. I ended up snagging material a few times with that larger thumb hole. These changes are not really a big deal. They just didn't seem to work as well for me.
The fit is critical for the best performance. If possible, I would recommend trying on a pair before ordering to make sure you maintain that trim fit. I usually wear large work gloves and, with these, I'm right on the border between medium and large (according to the included sizing card that the gloves come attached to).
These gloves are well designed, and durable. The open finger tips allow me to exercise more dexterity such as in handling screws and other small parts. Yet protects my hands while material handling. CLC is my first choice in work gloves. They fit well, are constructed well, and are made from quality materials. They last longer than anything else I've tried and at a reasonable price point.
I bought these for my husband whos a trucker. We had purchased another pair and after 2 weeks those had fallen apart. These have held up well after a few washes. My husband commented that the groves placed right on the parts of your fingers that bend gave some give to them and made working easier since the gloves didn't tug. Over all happy with this.
Really awesome gloves. Very good durability. I'm an electrician that uses these types of gloves, especially for the dexterity. They are not only for carpenters.

Most of the gloves I wear- Large- fits perfectly, and this glove is no exception. Just enough "naked" fingers. I had other brand framers gloves that had cut off at the middle of the finger, and I think that is too much. This one is just below first knuckle. Love it. After first uses feels sturdy enough, yet not limiting the movement. Sure, depends on what you do all day with them on, may last longer or not.
I am mostly using hammer, drill, screwdrivers and searching for correct screws in my belt or using air nail gun. I expect it to last 6 months or so, since there is no fingers to tear of. Your mileage may vary.
Tried and true : best damn framing gloves on the market. This is my third pair , fit perfectly every time with nice attention to details .
The sweat pad is crucial and I use to wipe my forehead all the time .
These are replacements for another set that I had for years. These gloves hold together and are super handy for construction, mechanics, and theatre tech work. The open fingers are great for dealing with nails, screws, nuts, and don't require removal for writing and the like and the reinforced palm provide great and lasting grip on chains and ropes.
First off, I hate wearing gloves. I like being able to "feel" the material I'm working with. With the current trend in commercial construction, I had resigned myself to being forced to wear the latest foam type rubber gloves that allowed you a layer of protection while giving you a decent amount of tactile manipulation. These gloves go way beyond that. Yes, you end up having two finger tips and the end of your thumb exposed but the durability and comfort of the rest of the glove provides a huge amount of protection. They fit like a glove should fit! These gloves will not melt onto you when they come in contact with hot material (I'm a plumber so I'm always soldering and brazing, they would probably burn up in a welding environment). They are comfortable to wear and they allow you to pick up or manipulate the material you're working on.
After a month of constant day to day use the only complaint I have is that they begin to smell a little ripe. You'll need an extra pair to allow for washing and drying. The gloves themselves are holding up wonderfully with no noticeable wear and tear. These are a pair of gloves that you find yourself looking to put on after break rather than being forced to wear them.
I do commercial heating and air conditioning work. I used to buy Mechanix brand gloves and cut off the fingertips on 3 fingers of each hand. I did this so that I was able to do smaller tasks like picking up a screw or wiring. After wearing them for a couple of weeks they would begin to fall apart. These gloves wont do that. I've put these gloves through hell and the only complaint I have is they begin to smell after awhile, which is understandable considering how much sweat they soak up. I would definitely recommend these gloves to anyone that works hard with their hands on a daily basis.
