Anself Stainless Steel Mesh Gloves, Cut Resistant Gloves for Kitchen Butcher Working Safety (Large)

They are pretty large on the hand, which is OK as if you have big hands they will fit you... I wear nitrile gloves over mine (also keeps the mesh cleaner, especially working with seafood, very important), and they're perfect. Throw them in the dishwasher (put them in a basket as a "pro" dishwasher like a hobart will pick them up and send them to the bottom!) and they come out beautiful, very durable, if you do a lot of meatcutting, fast and high quantity prepwork (cases of romaine into multiple 35 gallon cans per service, anyone?), lots of mandoline or deli-slicer work - these do the trick. DON'T waste your time (or safety) on the "fabric" or "knit-mitten" ones - these are an investment, but the investment pays off!

I got this because I often use a Microplane box grater, which will take the skin off your hand so neatly you won't know it until suddenly you see blood. Now, I'm not willing to give up that grater, because it also makes grating food nearly effortless. So after several unfortunate and painful incidents, I decided it was time to armor myself.

You should know that many more affordable "kitchen gloves" that claim to help you avoid cuts/scrapes are basically fierce-looking garden gloves, which will shred easily against a grater, or let a knife slice right on through to your finger. Those gloves are fine for preventing exposure to foods that may irritate your skin, or maybe for working with hot items without burning yourself, I don't know. But they will NOT help you prevent accidents while chopping or grating.

This was the least expensive glove that was real actual chain mail, yet I find the quality terrific. I have not had so much as a nick since I began using it. It's extremely flexible, so my hand doesn't feel bulky or clumsy and I have full control over fine motions. And it's a cinch to clean, which really surprised me.

The first time I used it was for grating cheese, and of course the glove ended up caked with a thin film of ingrained cheese. Not so much that I felt it was wasting cheese, just enough to make me sigh over the cleanup task ahead. Well, after the meal I returned to the kitchen and found that if I put on the glove and simply used the other hand to scrub it with a soapy scrub brush for about 30 seconds, it came clean easily. The next time I grated cheese, I laid the glove aside and actually forgot about it until the next day - and found it was even easier to clean because the cheese had dried overnight and the grains simply fell away, making that soapy scrub even quicker. Others here have said it can go in the dishwasher, and I haven't tried that, but I wouldn't be surprised, because it does seem to be real, quality stainless steel, not a cheaper, less durable metal.

I must add my voice to all warning that the sizes run really, incredibly big. I looked at the sizing recommendations and wasn't sure whether to get the small or the X-small. In the end I went with X-small and it's still way bigger than my (average woman's) hand. I love this glove and if I need another I'll definitely order this one again, but I'd probably go for the XX-small next time!

Despite their intended purpose, which is kitchen use, I actually decided to get these gloves for pick line work. (I work in a warehouse) I previously had leather gloves that were getting torn up after two weeks and I decided to try these out. It took my hands getting used to (they're made of metal), but as soon as I got used to them, I have been far more efficient. I can grab boxes in any way I choose. I have a much easier time getting through products placed tightly in boxes. Collisions that would normally result in bleeding cuts felt like gentle scratches against my hand. As a matter of fact, not only am I not worried about the gloves getting torn up (like my leather gloves), it's actually more of a concern that the boxes could take damage from my gloves if I'm not careful. They work great. They provide me with a sense of freedom in terms of how I can use my hands while I work. If the price is not too steep for you, I highly recommend them. Wear them over other gloves if you're concerned about the contact between the metal and your hands.

This glove is pretty comfortable. I can't cut myself through it. I could probably stab myself through it if it were my intention, although most of my knives don't have narrow enough points to do it. I took the advice of the reviewers and bought one size down my measurements: I have medium hands according to their chart but the "small" fits perfectly.

Don't make a fist while wearing these gloves, it'll make your hand sore later.

Great product but the sizes are way off. I work in healthcare and use a small glove. I ordered a small in the product but it’s huge! I’m guessing even the x-small will be too big. It’s useable so I’m not going to return it. It fits my husband better but it is a little big on him too.

I think there recommended sizing chart ends up a bit over sized. I ordered a large and measured my hand with calipers and wish i would of gotten a medium. Would of put 5 stars if not for the size issue.

though expensive, this is the only "cut resistant" glove i'd trust to seriously protect myself from truly sharp blades. I'v used other rubber impregnated canvas/cloth gloves that do protect from rough or jagged edges, but while sharpening a straight razor, plane iron, or a draw knife/spokeshave ect? those won't stand a chance. If you frequently sharpen various tools you absoluty need at least one of these gloves; just make sure you buy on the small side of the charts.

Works as it should but I wrote this review to help with fitting.
My hands are a bit beefy and they fit nicely in size medium. I don't know specifics about other sizes but hopefully this can help you better choose the right one. Now let me introduce you to my hand. Now because I'm lazy I only measured my middle finger (3 1/4in length, 3in circumference) , thumb (2 1/2in length, 3 1/4in circumference) and palm (4in width, 9 1/2in circumference) with a construction worker's tape measure so these are kinda rough estimates. Now when the glove arrived I couldn't fit my hand in it, I had to cut out 5 of the metal rings to widen the slit on the pinky side of the glove with some wire cutters before my hand just fit. My method worked but also slightly damaged a pair of wire cutters if you have a better idea go ahead. If your finger lengths are greater than mine I recommend getting a size higher because I can barely make a fist with the glove on. Again I have the size medium.

Seriously, I don't know why you apparently can't buy a chainmail glove that fits an average woman's hand, but apparently you can't. According to the chart, my hand is somewhere between XS and S. I ordered XS and it's usable, but really a good bit bigger than it should be. I'd order a smaller size if they offered it. And my hands are not even especially small!

Fit perfect as sized.
