Liberty 4505A 10 oz Cotton Canvas Men's Glove with Black PVC Dots On Palm (Pack of 12)

This 12 pair package of cotton canvas men's gloves is sold by Liberty Glove & Safety (www dot libertyglove dot com) in City of Industry, California and fulfilled by Amazon. I received them from Amazon as part of a multi-item shipment. They were packed in a clear plastic bag. The gloves were made in Pakistan out of 10 oz cotton canvas material. They have stretchable knit wrist cuffs and black PVC dots on the palm and fingers. The gloves are sewn in a "clute" pattern meaning the seams are across the back of the glove and the sides of the fingers, leaving a solid piece of material across the palm for comfort. There is no padding in the palm. I keep several types of gloves around the house. For really heavy duty jobs, I use thick cowhide gloves. They are stiff but provide very good protection against punctures and cuts. For medium duty jobs that still require leather gloves, I have several pairs of goatskin gloves and, for lightweight yard work and dirty disposable jobs, I use nitrile or light cotton canvas gloves such as these Liberty 4505A's. These cotton canvas gloves don't provide much protection, but they keep the dirt off your hands.

You can usually find cotton canvas gloves in 8 oz, 10 oz, and 12 oz weights...I find the 10 oz weight material works the best for me. The material has a somewhat rough canvas texture on the outside, but since it is a thin cloth, it has good flexibility and stays fairly cool on hot days. It is well suited for normal yard work such as pulling weeds or working with tools. Of course, you may have to remove the gloves to manipulate smaller items more easily. As you can see in the product picture, the key feature of these gloves is an array of PVC (rubber-like) dots on the palm and fingers. I have found that normal canvas gloves tend to be somewhat slick which makes gripping tool handles difficult and tiring. The addition of PVC dots appears to solve this problem. Using these gloves, I have had no problems maintaining a solid grip on tools such as a metal lawnmower bar or a wooden hoe handle. As noted earlier, the gloves are made from thin cotton-like material and they offer almost no protection against punctures and cuts like wood splinters, nails, tacks, knife blades, etc. They are good for keeping poison ivy off your hands while pulling weeds, but I wouldn't grab a handful of brambles with them. You will be pulling thorns out of your hands.

Overall, these are good economical gloves for yard work as long as you keep in mind that they are lightweight and offer only minimal protection. The thin material keeps them fairly cool on hot days and the PVC dots offer good gripping performance. You can find many almost identical gloves sold on Amazon (e.g., Kinco 862's) with varying levels of quality and features (e.g., padding in the palm, dots that wrap fully around the little finger, etc.), but, in my opinion, there is so little difference between the various brands, you should probably just go for the best deal rather than shop for a specific brand. Anyway, these Liberty 4505A's are a good value so five stars.

I was shocked to receive 12 PAIRS! I thought I was going to receive 12 gloves. The vendor might want to make clear they are selling 12 Pairs, not 12 gloves. I used to use Wells Lamont Hob Nob gloves. These gloves are very similar but MUCH cheaper. The only difference I can tell is the elastic around the wrist is a little looser and the glove is a tad bit bigger, which I am happy about. It's great to not worry about damaging the gloves. I now have 12 PAIRS!

Good for the price, slightly larger than other makes like Wells Lamont. Package of 12 had one glove with seam undone at fingertip. Other pairs were okay. They serve the purpose and are cheap.

We keep ordering more of these because they are cheap and get the job done. We can go through a pair in a few days working in dirty conditions and just throw them out. They have enough grip on them to make them handy, but they aren't too thick which makes them useable. Good buy!

They work well in humid southern summers when perspiration will turn leather gloves unpleasant smelling. Do not hold up as well, but inexpensive enough to replace more often.

Liberty cotton canvas men's glove. Made of 10 ounce cotton canvas. Clute pattern. Black PVC dots on palm. Index finger and thumb. straight thumb and knit wrist.

Nice work or garden gloves. When they wash they shrink down to the size expected. If you have a big hand they will stretch back out to big size. So after washing fit nicer and will expand when put on for a nice fit. We LOVE these gloves. They last a good time and you can't beat the price!

These gloves are not the same as the Wells-Lamont, but very similar and a lot cheaper.

For the price, these gloves are pretty good. Good grip and very comfortable. This is the second bunch of these gloves I've bought.

good buy....

Used them for many years. The price was really good for the quantity.
