Have used these gloves extensively over last 2 months while clearing brush and felling trees. Seams are still tight, leather does a great job protecting you from thorns. Glove are holding up well. Will order another pair if and when the current ones wear out. Great value for the money. Have worn-out cheaper gloves under similar job conditions. Very pleased with Wells Lamont.
These are a great looking pair of gloves and are comfortable to wear. Very happy with them.
This is exactly what I wanted for a work glove. It is very well made for heavy duty jobs. After using the glove, it is apparent that the manufacturer did a survey to find out what people wanted in a glove and then made their product accordingly. I can't think of anything I would suggest for improvement. If a heavy duty work glove is what you want, this is perfect for tour needs.
I had quit trying to find a medium sized glove for men in the local stores that would resist blackberry thorns and weren't expensive. Finally I found these and know I will be able to get another pair in 2 days. Wells Lamont makes a great product.
For the price, you cannot beat Wells Lamont. They are sturdy and hold up well under the harshest work conditions. They are not your "form fitting" thin leather gloves that may be more comfortable, but they are comfortable enough for what they are and they hold up great!!!

Description
Wells Lamont 4400S Suede Leather Palm Work Gloves provide protection and flexibility for your hands while you work. On the back of the hand, the first finger, thumb, fingertips and knuckle strap are made from high-quality split cowhide leather, as is the palm and the underside of the fingers. This leather is durable, and provides high abrasion resistance. The Gunn cut of the gloves places the seam at the natural crease of your hand, below the two middle fingers, for a comfortable fit, while the winged thumb gives you extra flexibility. The elasticized wrist helps the gloves stay in place, while also keeping dirt and debris out. These Wells Lamont Suede Leather Palm Work Gloves come with a heavy-duty safety cuff to protect your wrist. Wells Lamont – Stubborn about Quality since 1907.
It's hard for my husband to find gloves at the brick and mortar stores that fit properly. These are large enough for him to get on and off easily. We've ordered several pairs of these so that he will always have a pair handy no matter where in the house or yard he might be working.
While the description says extra large, these are a fairly good fit for my hands which are not extra large. I think that Chinese hands must run to the smaller size over all. Seems that imported items tend to be a bit of a tight fit, be it gloves or shoes.
For cutting, splitting and stacking firewood, I really like these inexpensive gloves best. They're tough enough to protect from splinters and abrasion, yet allow my hands and fingers to feel well enough to not make me clumsy doing the chore. And when stoking my wood stove, they keep my hands from being burned. I LIKE 'EM!
I think they're superior for gardening use to other gloves I've used. After a year or two of use, they do split at the seams. So I bought a pair.
Over the last few years, I have worn out 2 or 3 pairs of home store gloves each summer doing yard work.
Fifteen months ago, I purchased 3 pairs of these gloves. The first pair is still going strong - the cuffs are frayed and the leather is stained, but no seam failures or holes.
