As a physician in-training, I have access to all the latest and greatest ortho/sports equipment, but when my husband strained his previously torn Achilles tendon playing pick-up basketball, he didn't want to wear any of those traditional Achilles braces or have me tape/bandage his ankle daily because his ankle was "fine" and "doesn't need doctors". Riiiight...
Sensing he'd change his mind after limping around on a busted ankle for a day, I ordered these socks because they seemed less bulky than traditional braces and less time-intensive than tape. The day after his injury, he went to work without any ankle support, and when he returned home in excruciating pain (due to ankle weakness and inflammation), he was actually willing to give these socks a try...
My expectations for this product were low, but so far, these socks have been FANTASTIC. The large size (he's a size 11 shoe) provided just enough support to limit his range-of-motion without being so restrictive and bulky that he'd stop wearing them. They don't provide nearly as much support as a traditional brace/tape, but hey, I'll take what I can get.
Thankfully, he loves these socks so much that he actually wants to wear them throughout the day (taking them off at night in bed) and supplementing with ice, rest, elevation, and anti-inflammatories... and it's working like a charm. Once his pain/inflammation goes down, I'll recommend that he stop wearing the socks (which may be a battle... he's now obsessed with them!) and start him on a physical therapy (PT) regimen. If he wants to return to basketball before he's done with PT (which I would NOT recommend); however, I'd definitely want him wearing these during those games until he's regained his full strength.
Overall, I'd recommend these to anyone who needs SHORT TERM foot/ankle support. While these aren't what I'd ideally choose for his type of injury, they did their job for my "I'm too tough to go to a doctor" husband... Had he not been using these, I have no doubt he would've flopped around on his ankle until he would've fully re-torn his Achilles (which would've required surgery). This $16 pair of socks saved us a lot of grief!
I have used compression demi gloves for my hands at night for years because of arthritis. I have replaced knees because of deterioration from arthritis. I vaguely was aware that my feet hurt. Boy what a difference with these compression sox. I have relief from pain I have just been living with, thinking it was old age. I am buying some for my son in law to try for his feet.

High quality. Stays put without cutting of your circulation at the top. I can wear this over my foot by itself or over a sock. I’m able to wear it with the majority of my shoes. My only wish would be for a solid color version so it’s not obvious that I’m wearing an ankle brace/sleeve. I can wear this all day comfortably. I’m going to order another pair today.
I have worn this light ankle brace for a bit over 2 weeks and it really does a great job on achilles. Inflamed achilles have been a recurring issue and clearly 2 weeks is not 6 months or a year but so far so good. The braces are light enough that it is essentially as if you were wearing thicker socks but the support to the ankle and the achilles is undeniable. I highly recommend if you have the same time of recurring issues.
My husband liked these so much and noticed the difference for his Achilles issue that he had me order another pair after only wearing them for one week. I had to get an xray on a possible stress fracture. There were many people that told me even though the xray didnt show it, it would likely show later as healed. I was in severe pain. As a teacher you need to be on your feet 24/7. I loved this product. It helped me and is washable.
