This is perfect for small jobs around the house. I've used it to blow leaves off a deck, clean a garden shed, clear a walkway & driveway. blow leaves off a gravel path...but it is even better when getting behind tight places like an air conditioner compressor or in tight spaces like the 2 foot area between my shed and our privacy fence. It does a great job of moving leaves while not moving mulch or gravel. I highly recommend getting the long nozzle TP00000199. The rubber nozzle that comes with it is great for blowing sawdust or leaves off a table but it is only a foot or so long. I'm 5'10" and the long nozzle is prefect for getting the air flow down to the deck and path surfaces without the need to bend over. It takes seconds to change the nozzles or the battery. I love this blower and I rarely say that about anything. It doesn't have a power meter so it is extremely helpful to have a second battery to change out if the blower revolutions slow down...indicating low battery. This was a no brainer decision for me as I already use Makita tools so I already had batteries. I use this DUB182Z multiple times a day. At 3.5 lbs it is extremely easy to handle with one hand and maneuver into tight spaces. If you need a blower to replace a regular wired leave blower...there are other choices...but if your need is small jobs or access in tight areas...this would get my highest recommendation.
UPDATE: The biggest drawback is when the blower is just not capable of handling the tasks like wet leaves on my deck. My deck is about 300 sq ft and wet leaves on a trex like surface with glass side panels results in leaves sticking to the surfaces and requires my wired blower. Small jobs...dry conditions still a resounding vote yes.
I wanted a cordless blower that wasn't super heavy and awkward to use, mostly for spiderwebs, leaves, dust in the garage, etc.. Once I got it, I immediately found a million more uses for it, and now my son, who thought it was going to be to small to be effective, borrows it at least once a week for the odd job around his own house. Anyway, it is perfect for regular jobs around the house, inside and out. It is not a commercial grade blower, but that is not what I was after. I just wanted something cordless with a great battery that was easy to use and this fits the bill! The workers installing my new carpet saw me using it and really wanted one too! They thought it was the best!
Makita sells a larger blower that takes 2 batteries which is equivalent to corded or gas powered yard blowers. This one is much smaller. Not really suited for yard blowing, although it can do it if you're patient enough.
I should have looked in the store the size of this before I bought it. Its much smaller than I imagined, but that's mostly due to my ignorance, not false advertising.
I use it mostly to blow sawdust out of my workshop instead of using my air compressor, and for that task it performs very well. Its also pretty useful for drying cars or motorcycles after you've washed them.
This is a well-built, well-balance, and apparently durable unit. It's very compact, and uses the same batteries as my other Makita 18V tools, which is very handy.
The only things I do NOT like are:
> It needs a lock switch for the trigger. Using it for more than 1 or 2 minutes gets tiresome holding the trigger down.
> The long nozzle accessory is a tad too short. It's barely long enough to reach the ground when I hold the device, and I'm only 5'-8". If you're taller than that, you will definitely have to stoop when blowing leaves.
OMG! Cannot say enough about this cordless blower. My wife wanted one that was light, easy to use, and did not have a battery that died after a couple of minutes! We have BL1815 batteries which we used on our Makita driver...that battery lasts for blowing the drive, the deck, the walks, and the garage 3 or 4 times. bot a 3 amp battery and it last lots longer. Makita any time...awesome tools.

Love Makita products! Fantastic blower for my use & applications. If I needed anything more I'd purchase the more powerful battery operated model or purchase a gasoline model. I purchased this blower according to the reviews. Which is how everyone (in my opinion) should purchase anything online before posting a negative review. Because this product is perfect for what I need it for, which is clearing grass/leaves, dirt, and debris from the walk way, porch, and driveway. Super light to handle and runtime at maximum power (with a 4.0 battery) is sufficient to finish clearing everything around the whole house and some. Highly recommended for lighting duty purposes!
Probably my favorite purchase of the month. I already had a Makita driller so at a $99 price point for just the tool (not $186 to include the battery too) it was well worth it. The power difference between settings 1 through 3 is perfect. I use it to easily blow out leaves from the patio area and more specifically since there is a laundry machine in the garage, it easily blows out all the dust right out the garage door. My only "complaint" but it's not a big enough one to reduce is the stars is on level 3 it has a loud whining noise that could bother some close by neighbors.
Use it everywhere. Light weight, easy to handle, my wife can easily use it too. Can't believe the power of air flowing through it. It's not wimpy. I use it to clear my front porch and garage instead of sweeping, blow the leaves out of my windshield and engine, among other uses. It's not noisy like those gas powered ones. It lasts about 20 mins of continuous use with a charged Makita Battery. (Does not come with the battery and charger)
I'm a big fan of all things Makita. Especially their portable power tools. I purchased this more as a novelty, or so I thought. It produces a surprising large volume of air. Ideal for cleaning off a small work area or keeping saw dust away from your saw as you make long rip cuts. I'm very pleased with the unit.

If you are looking for a cordless blower for clearing the leaves out of the back yard, this is NOT that tool. You need something much bigger.
This blower is great for clearing the leaves, dust, pine needles, etc from the front porch or back deck furniture, very handy. I also use it often to clean my garage floor. But it's best application is for blowing all the puddles and trapped water off the car just after washing, especially the engine. The provided nozzle is a soft rubber, so if you accidentally bump a painted part of the car, it will not cause any damage. Highly recommended if you like to detail you car and want help with the drying phase.
