Whirlpool W10111606 Electronic Control Board for Dryer

I'm not a real handyman, but our dryer went out on Monday and a repairman couldn't come out for at least a week and quoted around $500 based on the F1 code. My wife told me that until the dryer got fixed, there would be no clean clothes - how's that for motivation? After some research, I found a great YouTube video showing how easy it is to replace the control board. The express 2-day shipping was on time and less than $10. In under 45 minutes, I had replaced the control board and the dryer fired right up again for less than 1/2 of what a repairman would have charged and in only 2 days.

Great part, quick shipment, great price.

This was easy to troubleshoot. The board was fried. I needed a replacement. The new board put my drier back into service. The warehouse that send the board also included instructions of how to do and a replacement fuse. Just in case was not the board but the inexpensive fuse. In my case was obviously the board. They also included a box to mail back the old board for recycling. They also mentioned a core charge for the old board which I didn't pay. Anyways they got the old board back...fried and smoked.

Purchased, received the next day, and installed immediately. Dryer worked 100% after showing the f-01 code. Far better than a new dryer.

I hoped to source this part locally... ha, ha, ha, ha do you know how expensive these things are and how many we would have to keep around ha, ha, ha ... Since I couldn't I ordered here. It took a week to get which was excruciatingly long because the dryer was out of service during the wait.

However, the part was exactly the right part. The repair took 5 minutes and baaaaam the dryer was back to doing what it was supposed to do ... dry my clothes.

The timer buzzer even started working again.

Great price and a great part. TRUST THESE GUYS!!!!

Wife's dryer went down and she was eager to get it fixed. After a little checking / testing this control board was found to be the culprit. For a DIYer it is easy to change and have the dryer up and running in short order. Wife is happy again!

Description

This is a genuine replacement part. The model number and name for the following item is:
Whirlpool W10111606 Electronic Control Board for Dryer

Our Maytag Epic Z dryer failed after only a couple of years, displaying a code that Google searching told me meant "replace the motor control board". This is the part, and replacing it was easy. I was a bit worried about getting a reconditioned board rather than a new one, but it seems to be working (and the original was not reliable enough to make me trust the original manufacturer that much).

I wish there were an easy way to send the old board back so that they could recondition it also.

Yeah it's expensive, but still cheaper than anywhere else. Also got it fast and it's genuine.

What I like is the ease of the removal and installation. What I dislike was absolute nothing. Take a picture of the old electronic control after you remove the white cover cap first while it is still installed on the dryer. That way you will not cross any wires when you install the new one. I think there is one screw under the cover cap also to be removed.

Very easy install with the help of an on-line video. Involved only 6 screws and 3 were the back of the dryer. Didn't have to replace the dryer so saved a lot of money.

so far it is running as it should. wife says it acts funny (screen doesn't show numbers going up, even though it does increase drying time) when you add time to drying, but everything i have done works.
