The gloves do most of what is advertised. I immediately put the glove to use and slid a sharp knife across my hand a number of times. The glove did its job. It should be pointed out that the pointed end of the knife may still poke through the glove (hence the four stars instead of 5), but the long side of the blade will not. these are great if you use a mandolin slicer. who knows why they sell them in pairs. the extra one makes a nice gift for a friend.
Really good gloves! I bought these to protect my hands while shucking oysters and they did a great job! There were a few times my hand slipped, and even though I felt the blade of the shucker hit my glove, it didn't hurt and definitely did not cut my hand! These are definitely worth purchasing.

For mine to be a 2XL they definitely run small. just need these hoping to not get any wood slivers. I have not tried these yet, but they seem like they will do the job as stated. I am not going to take a knife & try to slice myself though lol

I have a pair of cut resistant gloves for me but my pair didn't fit my husbands hands so I had to do all the cutting. Now guess what! He has his own pair and he can now help me cut up things. The large does fit his hands snugly but not too tight which he likes because when he is cutting he doesn't like lose things on his hands. Now he is protected and these gloves do work. The only thing I don't like is if your cutting meat you have to wash them.

After mauling myself cutting vegetables I decided it was high time I get a pair of cut-resistant gloves. These have done an excellent job so far of protecting my hands from further accidents. I followed the size chart and measured my hands before buying. They fit pretty well and I have good range of motion wearing them. They're not overly thick, but do add a bit of bulk to my hands. I did try cutting them with a sharp knife before using them and they held up well, so I think they'll do an excellent job protecting my fingers. They did smell pretty bad right out of the package, but it went away after washing them. They can get a bit dirty, especially if handling meat or chicken, but they're easy to hand wash and dry pretty quickly.
I recently had my second pulmonary embolism, which involved blood clots in both of my lungs. Consequently, I will be taking blood thinners for the rest of my life. Because of this, I need to take extra precautions not to cut myself. I ordered these gloves to protect my hands from accidentally cutting my hand while chopping in the kitchen. Tonight, I chopped my vegetables very easily, and with confidence that I wouldn't cut myself. The gloves fit well, and grip nicely - I have small hands, and the size small gloves fit me very well. The gloves stretch and give so you can bend your hand easily, and each finger has mobility. When I finished using them, I just washed my hands with antibacterial soap with the gloves on, like I would wash my bare hands, and hung them up to dry. I no longer worry about cutting myself. Great product!

I received these in the mail today and the first thing I did when I opened them was try to cut myself (in a non-self harming way). I am happy to report that the gloves protected my hand as promised and were very comfortable to wear.
The material sits snug to your hand without being clingy though as an average size female (5'5) I probably should have gotten a smaller size. I will update after a month or two of cutting up fish to see how they hold up long term because after repeated direct/forceful cuts with a serrated knife there was a snag or two but no loose strings/material.
I think these gloves would be perfect for someone add an extra safeguard against cutting your hand.
