I'm a blacksmith. One of the real problems I've seen while forge welding anything with a lot of surface area (big blades for example) is that the radiant heat can get *really* uncomfortable, *really* fast, even while swinging a long-handled hammer. The first set of hot-mill gloves I got (another manufacturer) worked fine keeping off the heat, but were silky-smooth across the fingers and palms. Makes for a treacherous grip on the hammer. This Honeywell pair with its nitrile grippiness does much better, and now I can work at welding heat all day without scorching my knuckles. Recommended.
Great for continuous handling and working heated metal
They work. Used for handling acrylic tubing while bending for a custom PC loop.
If you have ever let your hand slip down too far on a soldering iron, you would love these gloves.
If you have ever had to work on a hot engine, you would love these gloves.
If you ever had to remove a hot muffler< you would love these gloves.
If you have ever grabbed a welded pipe too soon, you would love these gloves.
I have done all these things and wish I had these gloves then, well I will always have them in my toolbox now. These are not going to stop a long direct hit from your blowtorch but it will keep you from getting burned when you inadvertently pass it too close to your hand. All things considered these are versatile things that need to be in any tookbox because you really never know when you are going to have to work with something that could burn you if you do your own work.
I have a very nice outside grill that can get to over 650degrees Fahrenheit ! The only problem with that is sometimes I want to check the temps when I have different thickness steaks of different cuts and with or without bones; at 650 degrees F, that is pretty much impossible even though my thermometer is 10" long or so.
Now WITH these heat-resistant gloves, I can easily grab the probe (with all 5 fingers) and check the temps. It is only for a few seconds and these gloves work great for that.
I DO like the fact it has 5-fingers, versus most oven mitts are really mitts, etc that make holding a thing temperature probe a little hard. I definitely prefer oven "gloves" over oven mitts.
And with a name like Honeywell, I can definitely trust these.

Description
Protect your hands from hot tools and materials with Honeywell North Grip N Hot Mill Nitrile Coated Men's Heat-Resistant Gloves. These safety gloves protect against intermittent heat up to 400 °F (200 °C). They are also equipped with a nitrile “N” design on the palm that gives you a secure grip on slick items. Unlike cut and sewn models, these heat-resistant gloves allow for airflow to help perspiration evaporate. They are finished with a knit wrist cuff that grips your wrist firmly to keep out debris.
These are effective, versatile, and relatively inexpensive hot gloves. The padding is thick enough to handle hot metals in the shop, or to grab hot dishes out of the oven. More protection than regular shop gloves (if you're using them in the shop) and less bulky than oven gloves (if you're using them in the kitchen). Nitrile coating provides very good grip. These gloves are not hand specific, which is convenient but also means you don't get a tight fit as you would with regular L-R gloves. Also, although the product description header says the size is L, they're actually XL and sized for very big hands. Overall, good value for the money, and good to have in the shop or the kitchen (or both if you multi-task like I do). Sort of like WD-40, these gloves are handy for many things.
This is a pair of gloves that measure 4.5" across at the wrist and 11" from the wrist to the tip of the middle finger. There is a coating on both sides of the gloves (the red in the pictures) that provides a more secure grip. The gloves protect against intermittent heat up to 400°F (200°C). I've been using them to remove baking trays from the oven, and they've worked fine for this. They are quite large for my hands (women's size Large in gloves), but they are not too bulky for me to use. However, the fingers are very long (and I have long fingers), so it does decrease my dexterity to have empty glove fingers hanging about an inch beyond my fingers.
These gloves are comfortable and well made. They are big---I think they'd fit almost anyone's hands. I like the rubber-like grip. I got these for use in the kitchen, knowing they weren't to be used like oven mitts---they are meant for up to 400 degrees. I did find that when using these for things even under that limit, like when the oven was set to 350, I felt the heat more than I'd expected. I don't think I would have gotten burnt, but I quickly put the pan down. However, they were great for things like taking food out of the microwave or picking up teakettle handles. I plan on using these for gardening next summer, and I look forward to their comfort!
The listing shows large, but the package they came in says "Size Universal."
Made in China, was under another sticker, covered up.
I have heavy duty gloves for things, like welding and such, that are such a pain to use. These are big, I have about 3/4 of an inch extra at the ends of each finger, and my hands aren't tiny.
But they're so flexible, so easy to work with. Grasping, having that tactile sense, all is easy with these.
There's a good grip as well, so I can have a solid hold of things, even metal, while my hands are protected.
These gloves are a great value as a basic pair of BBQ or oven gloves. I prefer them over our old oven mitts, because they allow for a little more dexterity. However, with a rating for 400 degrees F, these definitely aren't ideal for dealing with high heats for prolonged periods. I use them to quickly remove something from the oven, but if I hold onto the tray for too long, I can definitely feel the heat creeping through the material.
