I got these for my daughter because she loves to cook, but she is only 7 so I constantly worry about her cutting herself. I sought these out and am very happy with these gloves! They fit her perfectly so it's not cumbersome for her to work with them. She hasn't had any accidents while wearing them yet but I did a little check on them before having her wear them and they seem to do what they are supposed to do. I couldn't get a knife to cut into them at all. The only thing is that if a knife slipped and had more of a "stabbing" it would definitely still hurt. I'm sure these would prevent the knife from doing any damage but it still hurt when the point of the knife was pushed in. But it's not exactly chainmail so I think these will do the job just fine. But we will still exercise extreme caution!
I was so excited to find these in kids sizes. My 5 year old grandson has loved helping in the kitchen since he was 2. A couple of years ago, I purchased a plastic lettuce knife for him to use. He was ectatic to be cutting “with a knife”. He wanted to cut some veggies that were pretty much impossible to cut with a plastic knife. I ordered these, one pair went home with him and the other is here at Nana’s. I was thrilled when my daughter-in-law called and let me know that he made broccoli cheddar soup. He was so happy to tell me that he cut the broccoli all by himself!
these gloves are comfortable to wear. The fabric appears well woven and tight. The fit was excellent for me, tight on my son. ( both of us 6' 2", he's heavier). I have not tested nor can I confirm the cut resistance. I can only hope! I do hobbyist, craft, and carpentry with box cutters, etc. Many scars on hands to prove need for protection. Gloves that are too tight, or to bulky to allow control won't get used. I will use these gloves.
We bought these for grandchildren (ages 6-9) who want to whitte. They fit well and the children could still use the knives while practicing (with adult supervision)....I would recommend..
I bought these for my son to use for chopping wood and a pair for the kitchen to use for cutting fruit or vegetables. They are a perfect fit for his hands.
