I love these gloves. My knife skills are good enough I don't need them for cutting. But when grating hard cheese or veggies I often took a divot out of my hand on the grater. No more. The gloves add confidence when using a Mandolin. And wrestling with lobster in shell is no longer a horror show. Every kitchen should have a pair.
As a newbie carver I had a left hand covered in slashes, tiny puncture wounds and scraped skin. Now I am much more at ease when carving. Even when the blade slips it doesn't get through these gloves. First wearing they felt a little tight but I got used to that very quickly.
I am pleasantly surprised by this glove. I thought it would be somewhat uncomfortable and tough but they are actually really comfortable to wear. My daughter likes to cook and is afraid of knifes so this really assures her and allow her to be more creative in the kitchen. First we were a little scared because the gloves are so soft we are not sure how protective it would be. Then we realize it is much tougher than it looks and it can handle the knives just fine. This is a good quality product. One more thing because the gloves are soft and thin so it is even ok to wear in summer.
They are perfect for the Youth at the boy scout camp they allow much more protection than finger guards the whole Palm is protected Knuckles to the only problem is they run small the small is very small the medium is small the large is medium and they don't make an extra large or at least I haven't found one from this company that is the only problem I have with them
Gloves are very comfortable! I wore these this past weekend while cleaning a mess of fish. Glad I did as the filet knife slipped and I would have been cut badly. When I was finished cleaning the fish, I just put them thru the dishwasher and they came out good as new. Since the gloves fit so well, I will wear them from now on while cleaning fish and other "dangerous" knife situations.

I have been cutting myself with knives since I was a kid. It is just something that happens when you use knives a lot! Well I started doing more whittling lately and saw these on Amazon. I didn't ever think about anything like this before as I am not a chef or someone who uses sharp steel for a living. I just use pocket knives a lot. Well I decided $10 was cheaper than all the bandaid and Neosporin I go through and gave it a shot.
When they arrived at my home I put them on and gave them a test. I keep my knives very sharp. I find sharpening knives on an Arkansas Whetstone and leather strop to be therapeutic. Well I gently ran my thumb along the edge of my German steel whittling knife and nothing happened. It didn't leave a mark on the glove. I applied more pressure and still no mark. I didn't use all my strength but I made slices against my palm with a very sharp, high quality, German steel whittling knife and it didn't leave a mark!
I don't recommend trying this yourself. It might not work and you end up getting stitches. I will say that these gloves will stop all nicks and cuts while doing average knife working.
