Gloves are just another article of clothing - you have to find the right glove for the right job. In the case of the WL 836M FingerLESS gloves, they work great for me for 1) backpacking and 2) mountain biking.

A few things to note.
- They do NOT have any thermal insulation.
- If you use them hard like I do, they do NOT last very long (but for the price, who cares - they last long enuf).
- Apparently, you canNOT pick your color (they are black with a color band as in the photo). Note that I ONLY want them in black, but have gotten them with a color bands that have been ONE of 3 colors: ORANGE, GREEN, BLACK.
- Best Feature: on 2 middle fingers, they have indentations in the material so that you can pull them off.
- Good Feature: the so-called color band is made of MESH, and has good absorbent qualities, and can be used to wipe sweat off your brow.

Note sure what they are made of, but probably not leather, but some type of synthetic material or cotton blend.

Anyways, I like them for backpacking, because of the fingerLESS feature, I do not have to take them on and off frequently, and often have them on the ENTIRE day because of the fingerLESS feature.

I recently acquired a warehouse job where I am constantly using my hands to pick up things and I knew I was going to need a good pair of gloves - fingerless especially. No doubt these gloves have kept my hands safe from a few accidental cuts (minus one on my finger) but after a month, they already have noticeable wear.

The seam between the glove and the palm is splitting, the seam to connect the thumb fabric in the middle is splitting, the grip dots on the fingers are wearing off - most are gone on the creases where my fingers bend - and the padding is starting to seem a bit thinner - as in I can feel things more than I could at first.

I told my dad what my gloves are already doing and he said that's because you got a cheap pair - you need to buy Wells Lamont gloves. I said they are Wells Lamont, and he said WHAT?!

So there ya go...cheap, but work well at least for a little while.

I use these for tour riding on my Harley. They are very comfortable and protect my hands well while leaving just my finger tips exposed. The best feature of these gloves is, the two middle fingers have small pockets sewn on to help you pull these off. Fingerless gloves can be a pain in the patoot to get off. Wells Lamont fixed that issue. I just poke the fingers from my other hand in there and slide them right off.
The palms have wear area's sewn in where they need to be but not where they interfere with movement. A well thought out design in a riding glove.
They are made out of Nylon and vinyl ... Not leather ... but then when I ride in the rain, I don't care as much.

I have a pair of these gloves that I've had for at least 5 years and they are absolutely my go-to gloves for working outside. Good fit and great wear. I looked locally for several years without any luck. And now with any luck I'm set for the next 10 years. Just don't leave them laying around anywhere, they will disappear quickly. Great gloves.

After purchasing a pair about 3 years ago, I wore them until they were in tatters. They were extremely durable, lasting me through 4 tough field seasons as a biology tech. The extra patches of durable material on areas of the palm that bear the brunt of normal wear and tear allowed them to stay in the game for a long time while traveling through rough terrain. They were thick enough to protect from insect bites (a must for working in high elevation marshy areas where the mosquitoes will bleed you dry if you're not prepared), but thin enough to remain comfortable, with a little mesh along the knuckles to give a bit of extra breathablility. The little loops on the finger-backs make removing them much less of a hassle than usual after a day of hard work- a great innovation. I also appreciated that they were fingerless, allowing me to retain my manual dexterity, so I wasn't so clumsy as if I was using a normal pair of gloves. I'd been looking for another pair for quite a while before I found them on Amazon. Grab a pair for yourself..you won't be disappointed.

Gloves are very comfortable. Only complaint is that the thumb is rather long. Seemed to get in the way while I was operating the forklift. But after a few shifts at work, it was all good. They are a very light fabric, which allow for air! i don't find my hands sweating in them! extra plus!!! Have washed gloves a few times now and a little stitch fringe but they are holding up very nicely!! That's after working 50-60. Hrs a wk at a very hands on physical job!! Excellent craftsmanship! Will definitely buy these again when it's time!!

I've bought these before and they are good quality..they are good hand protection.. My last pair took me 3 years to wear out and I certainly put them through a lot. Good to have for throwing wood etc. I bought 3 pair to get free shipping so they will last me pretty much the rest of my life..

Good design, and warm to keep my fingers warm as I have a finger pain problem when getting cold. It is easy to take it off as it has something to allow pulling the gloves from the hands. Love it.

I like the glove. Have had them in the past and the work well. Only problem is they show colors and I had tried to order one red and one black set.
Got 2 black sets.

These are absolutely the best work gloves ever. After buying several pair of fingerless weight lifting gloves for work as a delivery driver, I decided to give these a try after trying them on. I was very pleased with the feel & fit. They are perfect for my job. The weightlifting gloves were torn to shreds within a week or two of use. After several weeks, these are going strong, and not a shred of wear & tear.
