Sure do like this heat resistant glove! It makes me feel safe when adding or rearranging wood in our woodstove. I typically do this with only 1 hand, so it's no problem to just have 1 glove. Actually makes it easier not to have to put on/take off 2. I can even pick up live coals with my glove-covered hand and not feel any heat at all. Definitely a good purchase.
After buying our son a nice gas grill when he moved into a new home, we decided to put together a BBQ-themed gift basket for his birthday. This glove is one of the main things we wanted to include. I smoke a lot of meat, on a large heavy duty smoker, so I'm always handling something hot. I use this glove to open/close vents, to handle chimneys of hot charcoal, to adjust probes for my thermometers, and to grab hot coals that fall out of the chimney or firebox. If a hot coal falls on the ground, I quickly grab it with my gloved hand and toss it straight into the firebox. I've never been burned doing this. I never stand with the coal in my hand to test how long before it would burn - I'm not that stupid! But for a quick grab and toss, this has been great. I don't use it to lift hot meat, because the material tends to get dirty and I don't want to make that worse. I use silicone gloves for lifting large pieces of meat.
I tried this glove out this weekend for the first time. We used the grill and normally use extra long tongs to pick up the meats so the heat doesn't burn our hands. This time I put this glove on and had no problems with keeping my hand in the heat of the grill the entire time I turned over the chicken. It is probably a bit big but once on my hand it gripped fine and no problems. It has an extension of material over my wrists and lower arms for extra protection. These would work great in the house as well for oven use but I already have another similar glove that I use for this.
It seems to be very well made and the Kevlar material makes it heat and flame resistant.
I haven't had to wash it yet, but it seems to be easy material to wash with cold water and let air dry.

Nomex clothing is used by pilots, race car drivers and others who might be exposed to open flames for a brief period. Be sure to consider the weight of an object as well as the temperature. If you are dealing with heavy, very hot objects you might do better with leather welding gloves and an additional thermal pad. I was not surprised that there was only one glove but I was surprised that the max temp is rated at only 480 F. There are other gloves which are rated to almost 1,000 F. You might consider those if you do a lot of work with hot objects which are also heavy. I got what I paid for and am satisfied.
I can pick up a bright red piece of charcoal. I can stick my hand directly in the fire and pull out a burning log. I have no fear of that stupid steal/ceramic coffee pot that we put in the fire in the morning to make coffee with. I have no idea how I survived before I owned this.

Caution Just because the glove inside is only warm doesn't mean the glove outside isn't burning hot. I tell everyone who tries it (and there have been a good number) before they put it on. 50% immediately touch the outside of the glove after they remove it from the heat source and promptly burn themselves. I believe the glove also doubles as a sort of Darwin test....

I have a lot of burn scars on my hands, wrists, and forearms from oven racks.(I might as well be running a commercial kitchen in my house with all the baking, cooking, canning.) This mitt is very helpful. I ordered large and have not had any burns since using it. You can order one or two-- each mitt has the special no burn stuff on both sides--there's not a right handed or left handed one. We have a wood burning stove in our cabin and I am thinking of getting another so I don't have to worry about any cinders catching me when I'm adding new logs. I like that I can still grip stuff. The plastic ones I got some 10 years back also don't conduct heat, pass through heat, and protect skin but they are clumsy. Great deal, wish these had been out for me years ago.
These gloves are awesome! I use them when tending the fire in my wood stove, and I can't feel the heat through them. I bought one at first to see if it was good quality and quickly ordered a second glove after trying it out. Though I don't recommend holding onto a burning log, if one does roll out, you can easily catch it with the your hand while wearing the glove and put it back into the stove. So far holding up very well, a little dirty, but no tears, frets or melting after 3 months of continuous use
Works great! I had tried using work gloves but eventually a whole burns through - ouch.
Its early days yet but this seems to be in a different league. Good insulation against the heat and shows no sign of charring.
I happened to see a documentary about making pottery and noticed that the guy who operated the kiln seemed to have an identical pair of gloves.
I just ordered one which I use on my dominant, right hand, The glove is truly ambidextrous so if/when it develops problems I can switch it to the left hand and use the other side. Why are Winter Gloves designed this way? Would make life much easier.
This bad boy blows away any other heat resistant glove we have worn.
Although we haven't employed it for BBQ use, we have employed it for dozens of fires and its still rockin' like Elvis back in 'da day.
Very well thought out, stylish, and versatile. Can be used on either hand comfortably and it does what its supposed to do.
Originally we were going to purchase a higher-priced product that does the same thing, but we opted to try this instead and if this didn't work then bite the bullet on the other one. Thankfully that hasn't been needed.
Only complaint is that these don't come as a pair, but that is okay. The price is more then fair when you consider what one unit of these will do.
Over the countless fires we haven't had any issues, and although you can feel some heat [naturally], as long as you're not getting into a blast furnace you should be okay.
We will probably purchase 3 more of these in order to have 2 pairs for the future. Still, one of these still rocks the house and offers added safety when dealing with firecraft.
My old gloves wore out after 10 years and I searched high and low and could not find a suitable replacement. Then I found these. I thought they were a little pricey but considering they could last several years I was okay with rolling the dice and ordering sight unseen. Bottom line is these are perfect in every way. The length (not too long), the fit, the comfort, and yes even the look is good. Other heat resistant gloves have silly graphics on them like BBQ's and flames, these are classy and straightforward. I am super happy I got them. The quality is very high on this product. Did I mention I am happy I bought them? On a side note, customer service from this seller was excellent in every way. USPS lost my first shipment. This seller immediately sent new gloves to me the very same day I put in my request. Excellent! I got them in just a few days and I was good to go. The only gripe is I had to wait what seemed like an interminable amount of time for Amazon to unlock the opportunity to request a re-ship, but other than that, this is an excellent buy and I use them every single day during the winter, multiple times per day.
