The material used in the palm of this glove is incredible. With regards to protection against abrasions and gouges, it outperforms leather -- and every other material I've ever encountered -- by a wide margin. I had been destroying conventional leather gloves at a rate of 1 pair per day, by way of wearing holes through the fingers/thumb. This material, by contrast, has lasted 7 months with zero holes so far. One downside to this material is diminished grip; it's fantastic for grabbing briar and pulling it out of a tree (or even out by the roots), but it's not so great for holding onto a chainsaw. It's excellent for clearing brush or handling trees, but poor for swinging a hammer or a machete.

Like all KONG gloves, the backside of this glove provides excellent protection for knuckles and fingers against impacts and, to some extent, crushing. My own fingers have been saved a few times from being pinched between two logs, and from falling limbs.

One aspect of this glove that lessens its otherwise great utility is the stitching used around the fingers. The palm/finger material is superb, but the soft material used between the palm and the back (that is, the sidewalls and tips of the fingers) is not on the same level, which results in the glove coming apart at the seams regularly. Yeah, that essentially means wearing a hole through the glove after all. This clearly *would be* a deal-breaker, except that 1) the palm material can't be beat and 2) these gloves are too expensive to throw away. Thus I spend a little time regularly re-stitching it back together as needed.

Finally, the only other con for this glove is the neoprene cuff is a bit loose. This is odd, and may be a fluke in quality control, because all the other neoprene-cuffed KONG gloves I have are more form-fitting -- to the point that it's actually a chore to get them on and off (which is excellent because they are very stable once on). With all my other KONG gloves, the utility of the neoprene cuff lies in it's capacity to prevent sawdust, sandburs, and debris from falling into the glove. Unfortunately, in this particular KONG glove, that utility is negated completely since neoprene cuff is loose.

Despite the shortcomings I listed, this glove is nonetheless in a league of its own within a narrow range of pretty extreme applications. I deduct two stars for the failure of that soft material between the fingers, which is serious fail, but give one back for the stunningly durable palm/finger material.

Bought these for my tow truck driving husband. He loves them! They really are hyper green, and to me every inch of visibility matters. I was impressed they fit his huge hands really well! They are super stiff when you 1st wear them, but hopefully after multiple use they are easier to manage.

UPDATE: We 1st ordered these back in September 2018. I had to order a 2nd pair as my husband lost them off the back of his truck, he was heartbroken to lose them. These are by far the most amazing gloves he has ever owned. He uses them every day, car fluids, gas/diesel, winch cables, broken glass, etc these gloves never quit... no rips, no fading, no popped seams... I just wish they came in black, as the bright green gets dirty quickly when you are dealing with towing.

Very well built gloves ! I am an arborist and these have been working great no holes and been using them for a month. Well worth the price ! I've been telling everyone I know in the tree world to get a pare . Have not been able to kill them yet 10hrs a day dragging brush etc.

i have worked on a towboat for 12 yrs. These gloves are the best gloves I've found handling rigging doing tow work. they are a little stiff at first not ment for tying cowtail and working lines but the best at rigging handling.

good gloves, use them to do wood and work on my truck. definitely oil resistant, just wouldn't use them in cold weather. otherwise they are good
