I bought this to do the job of a much larger Dewalt hammer drill that I had borrowed on previous occasions. The drill is exactly what I've come to expect. The power is perfect. The size and portability are perfect. I've owned a few larger drills, but I prefer this one. The hammer part made quick work of the brick I needed to make pilot holes for. Just as my previous M12 drills, there is little I can think of that this would force me to use my corded drill. Its just, drill wise, the best system being made.
This is my currently used drill at work. I've tried numerous types and a few different brands. Each had its pros and cons. The cons usually being too big or a bit heavy. This Milwaukee drill is small light weight and reasonably powerful but not quite enough for what I'm looking for. It serves its purpose but when I'm using a hole saw several times a day it it can either drain the battery somewhat fast or force me to slow down on cutting. It's no fault in regard to the drill. I've noticed there seems to be a limitation of power vs. size, regardless of brand of drill. It's a good drill and I'll use it until someone comes up with a compact high torque drill.
…. to replace my previous M12 drill /screwdriver, which I dropped in a lake. This is heavier (duty) than the tool it replaced. It seems just as well made as any other Milwaukee tool I've ever had. But beware what this vendor means by "loose tool": It was shipped in a double wrapped padded plastic bag in a padded FedEx envelope. But it was also without instructions and/or any documentation. No printed receipt or even a photo copy of the operator manual. I have no idea how Milwaukee will react if I have to return it for warrant22ee service. It appears to new condition and never used. But why would it have no OEM packaging at all? What is the deal? That is not cool, so I deducted a star. FYI: The description has an error. It says "NO" after Batteries Required?"? Of course batteries are required.
Wow. Incredibly Solid Drill. My last Milwaukee lasted 10 years. As did the original batteries!! Did it fail? Nope, nothing wrong at all, I gave it to my son-in-law. What a machine this new FUEL Brushless is. It's gonna out last me.
My last Milwaukee was an M12 and as you see this one is an M12 too. Do No Let the Battery Size Scare You. T.hey last a long time and rarely run out. The nimble size far outweighs and charge benefit. I just don't use the drill or driver that long. As a homeowner I'll only build a deck once.
I wood work, and most of my drilling is small holes. I replace my old M12 3/8 with this unit, and its perfect. Just a bit lighter, and battery life is several days. On a small project, I will drill about 100 holes and i need to recharge at least once, but now I don't worry about charging for week or so. I have M18 but they are too big for wood working, This drill is so compact and powerful. I cant say anything bad about it.

This M12 2504-20 drill came in an unlabeled box. The item did not come in a Milwaukee branded box. The item appears to be new, but I am not 100% sure due to the packaging and lack of documentation. I installed a battery and the driver works. The drill chuck spins fairly true which is good so I am satisfied with that. As long as you know what to expect, this is a good deal at fifty dollars. I am not sure how warranty will be handled with this item if I ever need to pursue it. -1 Star for the unexpected packaging.
I really can't fathom why this generation 2 M12 is so cheap and getting cheaper and cheaper every day because I bought this and it was in immaculate condition. Not even a scratch and everything works perfectly. Folks, this is a steal of a deal.. if I wasn't skeptical at the beginning as to the reason it's so cheap, I would've ordered a few.. this is one of the best buys in years.
Small and powerful. Smallest hammer drill. Excellent design and materials. On of Milwaukee’s gems. That said, my 18v makita hammer drill is just way batter in every regard (and heavier) and 3x the cost. For small tools, 12v Milwaukee tool are peerless.
I really like this new M12 Fuel hammer drill and the fact it handles 1/2" drill bits. The M12 1/2" Fuel is, for the most part, a big improvement over the earlier Milwaukee M12 hammer drill, which only took 3/8" bits. However, the 1/2" Fuel hammer drill is noticeably noisier compared with the earlier 3/8" version, about 77db versus 68db for the 3/8" version.
