I've got a full summer of using these batteries and I have to say I'm very happy with them. With the original B&D batteries in my yard trimmer, I could make it around my inner backyard if I was efficient. As the batteries aged though, they stopped holding a charge and needed to be replaced. With these new batteries, I not only can trim my entire backyard but I can take the same battery and put it in the blower and clean off the pool deck afterwards. I'm going to buy another set of these and throw all my B&D batteries in the recycle bin. These are money.
One comment, these batteries were difficult to seat and remove at first but over time they have gotten easier. I think the latch on these is slightly higher than the OEM versions. Just smack them hard when you put them in so they seat. For removal, push forward on the battery while squeezing the release. After a dozen uses, they will be much easier to use. Nice product.
These Powerextra NiMH batteries are far superior to the original B&D NiCd batteries! These have more mAh than the B&D original batteries, and they hold a full charge once I remove them from the charger.
After a number of years of using our B&D weed-eater and leaf blower, the old B&D NiCd batteries barely held a charge. Two minutes of weed-eating just would not do! I had been thinking that our household would need to just buy a new set of yard tools, since the cost of two new yard tools would have only been a little more than buying two B&D 244760-00 branded replacement batteries. Now, our yard tools run significantly longer with the Powerextra 3500mAh B&D replacement batteries, and the price at Amazon was very reasonable for the 2-pack.
I followed the directions in the little card sent with the order: I did 3 cycles of fully using up/discharging and then recharging these batteries. Now, I just charge them up whenever I want to, making sure to remove them from the original little chargers once they start getting warm to the touch (I have read that this is the indication that they are fully charged). I have not yet had a 30-day period of non-use yet, but I have also read that NiMH batteries should be discharged if they are not going to be used after 30 days.
The free gloves and outlet battery detector were nice extras, and I guess it's the Powerextra company's way of being generous to its customers. One of the reasons I decided to give these batteries a chance (in addition to so many positive reviews) is that Powerextra offers a 12-Month Warranty for Quality-Related Issues (see their website if interested). So far, so good...
It has only been 3 months, so I thought I'd be a little conservative and give this product 4 stars (instead of 5). If my experience holds up, I'll try to remember to edit my review and upgrade to 5 stars.
1 more thing: these replacement batteries look a little different on top than my original B&D 244760-00 batteries. This seems to make no difference in fitting them into the original B&D chargers and the yard tools, and the weed-eater and leaf blower function just fine.
Got the two pack upgraded batteries. I'm not really sure what the capacity of the original battery packs for B&D tools is, but it really seems these are much bigger. I have a power drill and a leaf blower. The leaf blower, using a brand new OEM battery might last 15 minutes, just enough to blow off the drive and the walkway after cutting grass. This battery was still going strong after twice as much area covered and took little time to recharge so I'm assuming it still had plenty of reserve. I've not used it much for the drill, just some small projects. But never felt I was anywhere near losing charge. Over time I may feel differently, but at the moment, I think this is a GREAT addition to my B&D toolset(s).
Sweet! Asked several questions before purchasing these replacement batteries. Wanted to make sure they would fit my B&D Model CD18GSR cordless drill. Received the batteries EARLIER than expected. Charged one up with my B&D charger (Model # ETPAC-P180021U2) (P/N 90592363). Took less than 8 hours for full charge. Slipped it onto my drill with ease. Powered it up without a problem!
I also received the white gloves! Don't know what I'll do with 'em -- but I got 'em! Also received the voltage pen tester. I think that little tool will come in handy. I do need to get some instructions for it.
Anyway, very happy with this purchase!
The battery received originally was defective and customerservice was very cooperative to quickly mail the replacement. The key is to fully charge and discharge a few times to achieve optimal performance. I use it for black & decker 18V trimmer and blower and 3000mAH battery last a very long time much longer than original battery. The equipment runs at higher rpm for a quick and breezy job. I highly recommend it.

My Black & Decker weed eater & blower uses the original 18v nicad batteries #HPV18 and they only had about 2000 mAh and would only last about 15 minutes. That has always frustrated me, because what can you do in 15 minutes? It would always run dead on me before I could finish. SO, I would have to pick either the front or the back yard, I couldn’t do both. When the battery died, there was no way I was going to replace with another nicad. I found these NI-MH batteries that are 3500 mAh and they advertise they will work with my tools and original charger, which they DO! The original charger charges them and they fit my tools perfectly. Some reviews say they fit tightly, but not mine… it’s a perfect fit. Now I can do the front and back yard on ONE battery! They lasts over 30 minutes. And it’s so nice having two batteries! This is a package deal, there are two batteries, work gloves and an electrical outlet tester, all for the price of an original nicad battery! What a deal! I am very satisfied.
Works well, no notable fitment issues with my B&D string trimmer. Seems to last longer than OEM battery did when device was new.
Have only used one of the two batteries so far, and even didn't use one that I charged because as it was shipped, I could complete my entire yard. I always had to swap batteries on the original unit to finish. So, so far so good with these.
They shipped some other "junk" along with the battery.. A cheap voltage present tester and some gloves - I see little to no value in those bonuses. I have a multi meter and work gloves that fit and are sturdier.
These batteries arrived quickly and in excellent condition; already charged apparently because I ran my hedge trimmer for nearly an hour on each one right out of the box. I recharged and checked both and they are ready for more work. I trim hedges about twice a year and need about 4 hours of heavy duty run time to get the jobs done. With the other 3 amp aftermarket battery I already had, these batteries will allow me to do the whole job non-stop (except to change them) and I know they hold a charge for the long downtime in between with the experience of my previously purchased battery.
Was needing replacement for my Black and Decker blower battery and saw this. It is stronger and lasts longer than the original battery ever did even when new. Was skeptical of the relatively inexpensive price for the 2 pack but they are great so far and charge with the B&D charger I already have. They even fit in the blower so much easier than the original B&D battery.
This review covers my most recent purchase, which was early in 2019, and a purchase I made in mid 2017 of the same batteries. These batteries are used for various Black and Decker garden equipment including hedge trimmers, pole trimmers, and the alligator saw. When I ordered the first batteries it was done only on the price point which allowed me to get two batteries for the cost of one Black and Decker. After I used the two 2017 batteries for several months, I found them to have the same power and to last as well ( or not as well) as the OEM batteries. Based on the first purchase, I bought the second set of batteries in early 2019. They are performing in the same manner as the early purchase and like OEM Black and Decker batteries. I have had no problem with the fit or the use of Black and Decker charging equipment. I recommend the Powerextra batteries. I will note, that I have returned Black and Decker batteries, (without proof of purchase. They use the date on the battery), under the two year warranty. The replacement batteries cost me on the postage to mail them to a service center. So, if you have Black and Decker batteries that are not performing properly and are under warranty return them. I you have Black and Decker Batteries that are out of warranty, and no longer performing properly, then replace them with the Powerextra batteries and get two for one.
