I am a firefighter and I use these gloves for roof operations. They provide good dexterity and protection, and have held up well so far. They are not waterproof by any stretch of the imagination however. I did not purchase them for that feature so it is not a major concern for me.
These are the closest thing to waterproof gloves that aren't made of rubber that I've found. It takes a few hours for the water to soak through to my fingers when working in the rain, much longer than any other non-rubber glove I've tried. These are not super-heavy duty gloves. Leather can't compete with the durability of synthetic materials. But for milder weather, wet or dry, when the dexterity is needed that only leather can furnish, and gauntlets are needed to protect the wrists, these are well suited. These are my preferred gloves for chainsaw work and wood splitting, rain or shine, but for wood handling, stacking and so on, I use armored synthetic gloves.
I found them! An outdoor waterproof winter chore glove with at least some dexterity over the usual winter gloves. They even come in small sizes. These are superior to all other gloves I have ever owned. Repairing fences just got a whole lot easier.
I operate a steam train at our zoo. These gloves work great in protecting my hands from the heat of the boiler and valves that control the steam. Thank you.
These are the best work gloves I have ever had. I burn through at least one pair of leather work gloves every month: the fingers give out. However, these gloves are going 4 months, and not a single tear or rip. Highly recommended.

I do electrical work. Edison came to my job and the technician wore these gloves while working on live wires. I bought them because of that and I love them!
Great gloves so far. Probably an overkill for using with fire pit and moving logs but better safe than sorry. Fifth star would have been awarded if they were slightly longer just for that added security when reaching in. Supple material, feel broken in from the beginning. Comfortable to wear.
My husband loves these gloves. They are very comfortable (soft and supple) and good for working in temps down to freezing.

Watch the sizing!!!!! Youngstown has great gloves but the amazon sizing is NOT what the Youngstown sizing is. So they run a little small (wanted an XL and got a L that did not fit). Bought the gloves on a non-amazon site and love them. As the mistake was not Youngstown's I gave em 5 stars
