A quick test in the kitchen produced a good review. It easily resisted a slicing cut with my sharpest knife.
It didn’t do as well with the puncture test I gave it, but it did impede the plunge, and only a millimeter or so of the knife-tip came through.... which means if you were really trying to defeat it you might get through, but not very far.
I will test further and report any new results.
At this point, it looks to me that luckily for us, the gloves are NOT dedicated Right and Left handed - That would mean we can use one as a spare.
As I am a right handed Chef, I will wear one glove on my left hand only, as the knife will be in my right hand (I won’t be able to cut my right hand, if it’s holding the knife will I?). That means I have a glove to use, and a spare while it’s in the washer!
Keeping these clean will be very important as the gloves will come into contact wit the food products.
Be especially alert to cross contamination - like when you’re cutting & handling meats, especially chicken. Be aware that the gloves are now possibly polluted with salmonella and other food borne bacteria and you don’t want to spread that around. I plan to test these cut resistant gloves in a 10% bleach & water solution (30 minutes) to kill the bad bugs and see if the material stands up to the chemical. I will also experiment with using latex gloves, OVER the cut resistant glove, to protect IT from contamination. As long as the latex glove is large enough, and strong enough it should work!

I've seen Alton Brown recommend safety gloves for use with a kitchen mandoline for years. After yet another accidental finger slice I ordered these.

I expected them to be thick and bulky for full protection but they are thin and almost feel like not glove is on my hand. Amazing how flexible, comfortable, form fitting gloves can protect hands like that. Should have ordered them years ago!

I dont use these for cutting. what i use them for is for platting hot food because the cut gloves give you a barrier between your skin and the hot food. i just used them today on the breakfast line holding hot handles on egg pan and they worked great just make sure that you have latex gloves over them because they obviously arent liquid proof. but they are awesome for handling medim heat objects and work well for plating hot food to your liking if you work in the industry. SIZING i used there hand measurment guide and it was off, according to their chart i am a small, when they got here they were super tiny so i had to return them to amazon and boought a medium.

When ordering, I expected a heavy chainmail glove that'd be bulky and that I wouldn't want to use except when absolutely necessary.

Instead, the material of this glove is pliable, comfortable, and surprisingly resistant to blades. I've tried quite aggressively cutting the tip of the glove off with a pair of sharp kitchen shears, and they remained intact.

A must-have for anyone that uses a mandolin or other similarly dangerous slicer.

Even though my work provides a cut glove. They are always the wrong fit. Super tight or to bug. And you can't move your fingers or grab things while wearing those stiff gloves. I love these it's like a second skin . Suser stretchy. Moves easily . Get a smaller size because it's very stretchy and you want it to fit tighter over your fingers.

I put a banana in the glove. I cut across it with a Cuisinart kitchen knife. Then I chopped down on it as if chopping carrots.
The glove was not cut. The banana was not cut. The banana has a deep crease because I really chopped it hard, but the peeling was intact.
Years ago, while boning a chicken, I boned my finger instead. These gloves would have saved me.
If you wash dishes by hand these gloves would prevent a bad cut from spinning your hand inside a glass that breaks. I have done that too.
These would be essential teaching a child to do kitchen work.

Well made gloves have already saved my wife from a few cuts on one of those slicing devices for veggies where you slide the veggies over the blade. Gloves ran a little smaller than I expected, but they have some stretch so they work ok for us. Perhaps my guess at the correct size was the problem - not the gloves.

I bought these Because I keep slicing my hands using an exacto knife on my 3d prints. Works great for slicing motion but I may have to upgrade to Kevlar ones because I stabbed myself when the knife slipped. Otherwise very good and useful gloves. I don't have to worry about slicing myself anymore at least. Who would of thought cleaning 3d prints would be dangerous lol! Highly recommend these.

Just received these after a mandoline accident cut the tips of two fingers! I think they should work fine, but I maybe should have ordered large. I followed the size chart, but the fingers are a bit short for me. I do have large hands and really long fingers for a woman.

I love playing with my kitty! But in the heat of the moment, I get too careless and have been getting cuts on my hand... so I decided to get this gloves last week. If its direct piercing/claw, there is no way to avoid it lol But so far, it saved me from 2-3 slice/cuts from my adorable and fierce kitty during our playtime. I recommend it!
