Youngstown Glove 03-3450-80-S Waterproof Winter Plus Gloves, Small, Black

I work in a warehouse freezer, and ride a motorcycle. For the warehouse, these gloves are perfect. I stack empty wood pallets all day. Most gloves last me between a week and a month before they wear out enough for the cold to seep through. These have lasted me 10 weeks so far, and only this last week got a hole worn in them. The freezer is -10°F to -30°F, my hands stay nice and warm, but not sweaty. I've seen some reviews complain about the inner lining coming out when they take out their hand, this does happen (and in my experience every glove with an inner lining does) unless you take the glove off by pulling the glove off from the finger tips first.

For use on the motorcycle... No. At 50° and 50mph, the cold wind cuts right thru these. Ya, i know 50° isn't very cold, but if its cutting thru at that temp it will be colder at lower temps.

Water proof? Yes. Like any other water proof glove, if you stick your hand in past the cuff, the water will still seep in. The waterproof layer is in the middle, so the outer layer will still get soaked

If you read my other reviews you'll notice a trend where I say a product is great, but only if you supplement it with another product. These gloves are no exception. I bought them for walks around the city and winter hiking. I previously had a pair of touchscreen gloves that weren't windproof or waterproof. In other words, they were virtually useless. Here's the deal with these Youngstowns:

Pros:
1) Waterproof and windproof. The company photo of being able to safely submerge the gloves in water without leakage is not exaggerated.
2) Snug fit. This is a personal preference, but my 7.5" circumference hands fits perfectly in the Medium.
3) The Velcro closure at the base of the glove seals out the air and wind.
4) Thick enough for warmth but thin enough for a great work/sports glove.

Cons:
1) As noted in other reviews these gloves are warm enough for approximately 20+ degree weather, but are useless at any lower temperature. Now comes the point where I supplement this glove with another product: Fox River Men's Polypropylene Glove Liner. The problem with toasty gloves is that they invariably make your hands sweat. The gloves seals in the moisture, moisture and the cold meet, moisture and the cold do not mix well, your hands get cold. You therefore need a layer to wick moisture away from your skin and the Fox River will do just that. I realize there's an extra cost attached here, but these Youngstown gloves are 90% of what you want in a glove. I'm willing to spend the extra buck for that extra 10%.
2) There is no clip to keep the gloves together.

I ordered these gloves to wear when riding my motorbike in the rain, as my proper riding gloves take in water and become soggy, making my hands numb from the cold. I also have them with me when taking my best friends (four-legged) for their exercise outdoors in case it rains.

The pair I am having now is actually the second. (I have also purchased Ergodyne Proflex 818 Thermal Waterproof Utility Gloves at the same time I ordered this one.) I am happy with it (as well as with Ergodyne's). It is well made, and keeps my hands dry and warm in the rain.

The first pair was too big. The mistake in my choice of the size was caused by the manufacturer’s advice to add a quarter inch to the circumference of your palm and check the size that is appropriate. It didn’t work for me. You might want to ignore that piece of advice.

Fortunately for me, Amazon graciously refunded my money without me having to return that first pair, because to do so would have meant a lot of hassles for me. I live in the mountains, and travelling to and fro the nearest city to mail the pair back is not exactly something I would be dying to do.

Just got my second pair as I lost one of the gloves I bought exactly 2 years ago. Waterproof Winter Plus, 03-3450-80 If I hadn’t lost one of the pair, wouldn’t have needed to get this second pair. Not the warmest gloves, but good enough for Massachusetts winter. My warmer gloves are bulkier, not as durable and more expensive. These gloves are compact enough that I can shove them into my jacket pocket. Fingers are fairly narrow, snug fitting which makes them good for gripping things. Fingers come to somewhat of a point, so I can punch in the code on our garage door opener pad. I give the gloves a 5 star rating because they are a good compromise between durability, warmth, and ability to pick things up/grip a tool.

so far ive got them wet and used in -28.
First , the wetness : 38 degree day light rain unloading fire wood all day . Glove were so soaked i could feel the weight difference . The water did get soaked up in the outer shell but my hands stayed warm and dry. (It did take more than an over night on the boot dryer to completely dry.)
Lastly , -28 degree day : Had an outside job to do that kept me outside for about 3 hours . To be honest i was a little bummed at first because my fingers were cold af . Less than an hour in I warmed up good in the truck got my core warmed back up and went back to the task at hand. This time my gloves performed beyond my expectations as i enjoyed warm dry hands the rest of my job. The key is to remember these are for working in the cold and not sitting in a deer stand . I am very happy with them

WOULD RATE LOVE THEM EXCEPT THEY DO HAVE A BIG PROBLEM. WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF THE LINING GETS MESSED UP AND YOU HAVE TO TAKE FOREVER TRYING TO GET THE FINGERS BACK INSIDE AND IN PLACE SO YOUR ABLE TO WEAR THEM AGAIN. THEY BUNCH ALL UP AND YOU HAVE TO FIND SOMETHING TO USE TO HELP GET THEM BACK IN LIKE A PEN, OR STICK, OR WHATEVER. I WORK IN CONSTRUCTION AND HAVE TO CONTINUALLY TAKE GLOVES OFF AND ON THROUGH OUT DAY TO DO DIFFERENT THINGS. AND I CAN'T BE FIDDLING AND WASTING TIME TRYING TO GET GLOVES BACK ON AND OFF. TRY IT WHILE ON ROOF IN WINTER. AT TIMES IT TAKES 10 MINUTES TO GET THEM BACK IN PLACE IF YOU DON'T HAVE SOMETHING TO AIDE YOU. THE COMPANY SHOULD FIX THIS AND KNOW THAT THIS PROBLEM IS THERE. HOW COULD THEY NOT KNOW?? HOW COULD THEY NOT HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS WHEN MAKING THEM. THEY ARE MADE FOR WORKERS IN OUTSIDE COLD WEATHER. ON THE GOOD SIDE THEY DO WHAT THEY SAY. THEY ARE WARM, AND DON'T TEAR UP AS FAST AS CHEAPER GLOVES.

Its been more than month since i received my Gloves from Youngstown , i was very skeptical as i have bought over the years so many different brands and every one of those either had tears in fabric in just a week or weren't waterproof as advertised, this gloves are heavy Duty , in -30F freezer my hands stay warm and water melting ice or condensation never goes thru first layer, its usually gets wet from outside but my hands are 99% dry from inside, you wont be able to pick up screws or small objects with this gloves as fingers are extremly large because of all that insulation but as warm waterproof heavy duty gloves this ones are amazing

I ordered these gloves 5 months ago. I'm a zookeeper, so there are MANY opportunities for me to get my hands wet with all sorts of gross stuff. These gloves do the trick! You can submerge the glove completely for a few seconds and the water will not soak through. They are that good. If you dip your hand too far, of course water will seep in behind the wrist strap. So you can't reach into water all the way to your elbow or something.

Don't get me wrong though. I have had these gloves soaked completely through to my skin several times during winter. If you submerge them, they need time to dry before you submerge again. Otherwise, they will soak through to the skin. I still use them when they get to this point because they will eventually dry out and then provide a good level of waterproofing again.

They aren't totally waterproof. Gloves that are totally waterproof just don't look and feel this good. It takes a lot of soaking to get through these. That's all I'm asking for. They are comfortable, look good, and the price is right. I definitely recommend these gloves for every season except summer.

I bought a large pair and they fit me well - just some slight room at the fingertips. They say not to wash and dry them in machines. But I have and they weren't damaged. The liner inside will come out of the glove, and they are a pain to get seated back in the glove correctly. So be warned. But mine just get way to messy for hand washing.

These are perfect gloves for winter chores, both warm and waterproof. Cold from snow and water does not get in, at all. Construction is high quality. They look and feel as if they will last. Stitching is uniform and even. The insulation is Thinsulate. In addition to snow shoveling, I plan to use these gloves for outdoor endurance events in wet and cold weather. The fit is true to size. The liners in the pair I received stay put.

I bought these gloves with some skepticism that they would perform well given the inexpensive price tag. I have been completely surprised as these gloves are still holding together and working pretty well after three months of very heavy excavating contracting. The overall ability of the gloves to keep my hands warm is very good, the waterproof properties are excellent and the durability is very good as well. I work with a lot of heavy plastic and cast iron pipe installation and the gloves though a little tattered and torn are still intact and functioning. I have also put them into the cold cycle of my washing machine 3 or 4 times as the insides can get a little pungent from sweaty hands. They have also been in the dryer as well. "If" there is one knock against the gloves it is a small one. When you take sweaty hands out of the gloves the finger inserts come out as well and are very hard to get back in when you put the gloves back on. You have to grab the finger tips with your other hand and hold them in place before pulling your hands out. In my mind, just a minor glitch. I would by them again.
