I like these much more than my other Mechanix gloves. I prefer the elastic wrist over the original Velcro tab closure, and also appreciate the larger loops on the gloves, which make it easier to hang them from a carabiner on my plate carrier so I don't lose them. They are also more supple, which makes it easier to pick up smaller items (like 5.56 or even .22LR rounds), and for operating various buttons and levers on my gear and weapon. The material in the palms and fingers seems much sturdier as well. My original Mechanix gloves tore at the pointer finger of my support hand after only a few times using them with a railed forend of an AR. I guess the rails tore them up. I've run quite a few drills using these new ones, with no problems or tears yet. The Multicam pattern is well rendered, and overall these are pretty awesome gloves. I recommend them very highly over the originals.
I use these gloves mostly for hunting, but as a caution to you folks, they are most certainly not insulated. If you want warm gloves, I'd stay away from these. If you want a glove that's thin, comfortable, and protects your hand while providing dexterity to the point of almost forgetting you have gloves on, get these. The palms are very grippy, and provide a firm hold on the firearm. They do provide some warmth that is definitely better than nothing, but in the weather I was in (~25 degrees F), my hands were pretty cold. If you want a second skin for your hands, get these. If you want maximum insulation, look elsewhere.
I'm a bit of a glove monger. I'm constantly searching for a better glove and have many, many pairs. Good old Mechanix are some of my favorites. These had a great fit and great shipping. The one drawback to the Mechanix basic glove is that the fingers are tipped with the nylon stretch material. I wore these for general purposes here and there. Used them on a winter fishing camp trip on the Wilson River. Needless to say, they did not stand up well. I love the brand and the product in general. I just wish they would do something to get rid of the nylon over the tip of the finger and use the faux suede or something tougher. The fit and feel was enough for the rating. I would go 5 if the finger tips had more lifespan.
Very, VERY nice gloves for shooting or just general use! They feel so nice and very well made. No big thick seams anywhere cutting into your hands or getting in the way of dexterity. I got one size smaller than normal for a nice snug fit as I use these for shooting and wanted to have a lot of felling and dexterity with them. I tried on a set at the local home improvement store to get the size right. They are very breathable and light feeling but they still have enough to them to protect your hands from heat of a rail or barrel getting hot or any sharp/rough edges on a gun while doing high speed drills.
If you're using these for shooting gloves I definitely recommend ordering a size smaller to get a really snug fit. These stretch a lot so even though they'll be snugger than normal you'll still be able to have full movement in them.
Exactly what I needed. Not as tough or strong as my m-pact (no knuckle and palm padding) or as loose as my original vent (which as vent holes on palm and loose fit). But it is the perfect fit for a shooting gloves and maybe gloves for light works.
It fits my fingers very well comparing to the loose fit on original vent (which I had trouble to stick index finger into the trigger guard of my 1911, same issue with my Oakley). Also it doesn't has the holes on palm (well the orig. vent might be good for riding a bike?), you definitely don't want to do yard work with the holes on your palm. M-pact is good working gloves with nice protection and comfort padding. But that thing was just too thick, you lose all the feels of your grip and it was too darn hot in GA summer. This fastfit however, is a good fit for what I need. It was not too thick and I can operate without any issue, yet providing certain degree of protection. The ventilation is good too.

Make sure you go to Mechanix website and use their chart to make the right size selection. I did and couldn't be happier. Fits the best out of many of my pairs of gloves (that are not Mechanix). This is my first pair of Mechanix and I'm a fan.
These don't have straps and are elastic around the wrist. They are short at the wrist intentionally and have little to no hang-over. The leather is very supple and smooth; the top material is flexible and very comfortable. The paracord loops are a nice feature I didn't know I'd need. I like them very much and will buy more.
I love these gloves and will buy more in the future. I use these for shooting and they allow for great dexterity all the while providing decent protection against high temperatures encountered in high volume shooting and cool temperatures (good till about 40 degrees Fahrenheit or so) as well. I can readily manipulate an AR-15 and modern handguns with these gloves on. I have large but slender hands and these fit well in size large. I have washed these numerous times in a washing machine but I only do so on a cool or cold setting and either air dry or low temp dry and they turn out fine. By the way my pair has seen a good amount of use and I predict that the pointer finger sections will be the first areas to go.
The FastFit feature is convenient and I much prefer it to the regular Velcro strap. I absolutely recommend these gloves.
I want to start off by saying the FastFit Mechanix gloves are far superior to the Original, at least in my opinion. For anyone who wears a watch the FastFit can accommodate a watch by the cuff going over the watch and the elastic in front. With the Original I would have to take off my watch or velcro the glove in front of it which was always hard with the rubbery cuff. The leather palm and fingers are very durable and offer better dexterity and grip than a glove with man made materials on the palm and not having to deal with rubber melting if your putting wood on a bonfire. The nylon pull loops are helpful when pulling the glove on or off with a gloved hand. The only real damage to the gloves in the 2 years I've used them so far is the tags on the side getting caught and fraying. An easy fix to this is cutting off the outside tags close to the glove and running a lighter quickly across the raw edge of them to prevent future fraying. I don't use these gloves for anything extreme, mostly just when working in the yard to prevent cuts and scrapes from any branches, rocks, or thorns when trimming bushes or pulling plants and they are still going strong.
Worked very well for what they are intended. They are not cold weather gloves. They are thin and probably won't hold up to tons of abuse, but they preserve your dexterity while adding a little abrasion protection. I used them during a 4-day firearms course and my hands did NOT get beat up nearly as much as the other students in my course. There were a lot of blisters and a couple of small lacerations from repetitious actions (loading magazines, safety on/off repeatedly, malfunction clearances, strong side to weak side transitions, dropping to prone, etc.). My hands were a little sore, but I wasn't squeezing puss out of blisters or wearing duct tape to keep blood off of my weapons. The only issue was that during the CQB course, I had to remove the gloves in order to tape up the paper targets because each time I would pull of a small length of tape, it would a little of the "suede" fabric. Since they are already pretty thin, I didn't want to have fingerless gloves by the end of the course, so I removed the gloves before handling the tape. I don't anticipate that these gloves will last very long, but they are inexpensive and do what they are intended for… protect your hands from minor abrasions and cuts while still keeping most of your dexterity. I will order another pair when these wear out.
I absolutely love these gloves. They changed the style slightly where the seam runs along the thumb on the palm side making the a little less comfortable than before however they are still my go to glove. Durable, yet thin enough to operate tools or firearms. I have worn them in cold and windy Pennsylvania Winter and hot Forida Summer. They are a great compromise between bulky winter gloves and thin gloves that don't hold up to hard wear like cinder blocks. I bought three more pairs to give as gifts because friends kept threatening to steal mine. Also bought a few extra just in case they discontinue this style. No stupid plastic knuckle protectors either. A black or plain tan or green option would be nice. Despite what some may think camo doesn't always go with everything.
