Youngstown Glove 05-3080-70-XXL General Utility lined with KEVLAR Glove XXLarge, Gray

After reading other reviews I ordered XXL for my XL hand. Glad I did order one size larger, they fit perfectly "like a glove".
The quality is very nice, much better than another brand I tried that did not fit. These are amazingly well stitched. The non-leather exterior padding has a superior grip compared to leather yet it is flexible. There is extra padding on top of the knuckles and the gloves are lined with Kevlar. I don't intend to try the cut resistance, but apparently it is there in the glove and a good idea if you are using a chain saw. I plan to use with my chainsaw and the fit, flexibility, medium thickness, Kevlar lining and grip seem perfect for that use.

I purchased these for my husband thinking they'd be great for when he pulls blackberry vines. No such luck, the Kevlar doesn't cover the entire hand, so everywhere there wasn't Kevlar (there's gaps in the fingers and between the palm and fingers), blackberry thorns poked his hands and so did the little spiny weeds in our lawn. However, they're great for his other yard chores. But as soon as I find a pair of gloves that don't let blackberry thorns poke my hubby's hands, these Youngstown gloves likely won't be used anymore.

Regarding sizing, I bought the XXL size as my husband is 6'8" with huge hands, and he was happy that these gloves fit him. Not only were the fingers long and big enough for his fingers, but so was the rest of the glove. Oftentimes gloves will stop short of his wrists and just barely cover the backs of his hands, but these come all to the way to his wrists. It's a little detail that matters to a guy who has trouble finding stuff that fits him.

I like being able to buy a pair of gloves that actually fit, I have large hands, long fingers. It's hard to find gloves that fit properly, until now. The xx L gloves are a perfect fit, and comfortable !

So I bought three pairs of gloves -

Custom Leathercraft 125XX Handyman Flex Grip Work Gloves, XX Large
Dewalt DPG20XL All Purpose Synthetic Leather Palm Spandex Back Velcro Wrist
Youngstown Glove 05-3080-70-XXL General Utility lined with KEVLAR Glove...

I gave Leathercraft and Youngstown each 5 stars for different reasons. The Leathercraft are the most comfortable to work in. The Kevlar are stiff, but clearly durable. The Dewalts are fine, but since they are about the same as the Leathercraft, I have the Dewalts one less star.

All 3 are XXL and fit my hand - none are too small or otherwise a poor fit.

Ordered first pair, XL. Gave to my wife...they come small, but fit a bit large on her. I ordered, XXL and overly tight fitting. Seem well made and suitable for general protection.

Description

Youngstown's General Utility lined with Kevlar is a heavy duty, all-purpose and rugged work glove designed to provide next level hand protection for those performing tough jobs. The outer glove is built similar to our top sellign General Utility Plus. It features extensive non-slip reinforcement to provide excellent grip and lasting durability. It also features a supportive cuff, padded knuckle and soft terry cloth thumb wipe. The interior of the glove is completely lined with Kevlar fiber. The Kevlar greatly increases the cut and puncture resistance of this glove. The result is a glove that is extremely versatile and it has found its way into a wide variety of applications where next level protection is required. Many use this glove in general construction, utility field work, landscape work or for gardening pros. The puncture resistance makes the glove great for handling brush or thorns and thistles without being slowed down or poked. The glove is machine washable and it is recommended to air dry them. This glove is available in sizes Small thru XXX-Large.

These are the best work gloves I have bought. 100x better than the best gloves you can buy at one of the big box stores. I work for a general contractor and do my own work and these have held up to handling lumber, handling concrete, yard work, metal cutting and more. I've had them for 3x longer than what I was getting from the gloves they sell at Home Depot. The Youngstown gloves do not tear when cutting metal and they do not fall apart if you use them while handling concrete for forms like the big box gloves do. I bought the 2xl and they fit my hands great.

I live in rural Arkansas, (most of AR is). Trying to clear some of my land, I've encountered a local vine called "Greenbriar", it is as close to a natural "Barb-wire" as you could imagine. it has penetrated my heavy canvas gloves, my leather gloves, but not my Youngstown Kevlar gloves. The gloves are a little long in the fingers, but do fit the rest of my hand well (a lot a trouble finding a XXL glove that is big enough, but these are). they are also breathable, and don't make my hands sweat. Good gloves, worth the money

Hubby loved them and I like knowing he'll be safer using these.

Absolutely outstanding. These gloves are very puncture resistant. Heavy duty. Flexible. Well made. Should last a very long time. Much better than my old Wells Lamont work gloves.

These gloves hold up, and are very comfortable.
