AmazonBasics Expandable Metal Hanging Storage Organizer Rack Wardrobe with Shelves, 14

Pros - Easy to assemble, great functionality, and affordably priced.
Cons - Missing most shelf mats, doesn’t sit flesh against the wall due to warped metal (perfectionists beware).

I live in a studio without a closet, so this is my solution. I’m impressed with the functionality and ability to modify shelving space. It is a “get what you pay for” type product. The metal is slightly warped causing the two sides to not sit evenly with the other. Not ideal, but also not a big deal. I’m happy with the overall product and would recommend it to others living in small spaces looking to maximize on storage space.

My closet had an avalanche when the original shelf ripped out of the wall. I got this set of shelves to replace it. Not only did all my hanging clothes get back up on a rack but now I have shelves to organize my purses and shoes and random stuff. It looks much better organized than before and I'm not worried about these shelves falling down.

I was a little hesitant to purchase this because I didn’t think it would hold the weight of my cloths but once everything was put on it seems extreamly sturdy! Came with all parts with nothing damaged and easy instructions to follow. I used zip ties to connect the two top peices since I didn’t end up needing to expand it.
I also used old shower curtain hooks to hang additional things that are a pin to have on the shelve. Really helpful to use with my not so spacious bedroom closet!

We have assembled many wire shelving units from various online and big box stores. This hands down this is a winner. The unit is sturdy and the finish is clean and polished. This is a complete package. Well laid out directions with clear visuals. All parts labeled and packaged correctly. An added bonus- parts were packed so that they “went with each step”. The surprise bonus of the plastic shelf liners at this price point was amazing. For me (chemically sensitive) person this unit and parts had no issues! Shocking! ! NO weird or noxious smells! That in itself is worth twice the price! I received zero compensation for this review. I needed a storage unit. Took a chance and ordered this one. Totally satisfied.

Easy to put together. Seems sturdy. So far the rods are not bowing with the apparel's weight. My only complaint with this product is the top shelving that meets halfway from each side seems to always be bent. I thought this was a distortion of other customers picture reviews but it is not. Upon assembling both I ordered, they are always bent downward for some reason not allowing them to join well in the middle. It’s about a 1.5” difference from the sides to the middle but I was able to remedy this with cable zip ties.

Description

Expandable Closet Organizer

I reconfigured my walk-in closet for a fraction of the cost of a branded company. I used 2 closet organizers plus a rolling shoe rack and some collapsible storage bins and was able to fit more clothes than I would have otherwise.
It is functional, neat and practical.
I am very pleased with the product.

Love these. Bought 2 sets and put them around my washer dryer. I wanted them close together. So I left the feet off, and zip tied them together. They were not quiet tall enough so we built a platform to set them on. The top shelves do not attach to one another.

Ok, so, it really really strong, and it really tall, and the pipes some of them the internal threads for interconnecting them were burred and I had to use a wrench to get them on with the nipple connectors, ( MINOR Stuff), I use to be a Machinist and often wondered how this works out what I did... and here it is about that. So then I like it. we live in a 112 year old house by choice and people did not have a lot of stuff back then, but we do. So no closets and all so we get this kind of stuff for our things. The price is right, and its strong up to 1300 lbs weight load total. READ the Directions and follow them. I initially thought its just pipes they are all the same.. They are not. Also where you place the brackets pre-size it using clothes with hangers you use so the upper and lower rods are the best distance from each other.

This was as easy to put together as any other rack of this style, took about a 30-45 minutes with 2 people. Simple design. It is, however, a little on the flimsy side. If it is spread too far out it becomes wildly unstable and there is no way it could hold a lot of clothes, so I would say to not extend it more than half of its possible width. The shelves are good though, could maybe use one more for spacing purposes. The only other thing that seemed off about it is the height. There isn't a possibility for having the clothes not touch the ground or the middle bar, there just isn't enough height. Little bit of a poor design, but it will work, you just have to accept that it isn't perfect.

It took me about 1.5 hours to leisurely put together, the box was heavy so if you a weakling like me you might need some help to carry it where its going to go because you will definitely want to put it together around the spot where you plan to store it. I did found that I needed to borrow my husbands rubber mallet to finish the assembly process so I don't agree that there are no tools required. I wish the instructions gave you a better idea as to where to put the bar brackets. I made a guesstimate that was almost right but it ended up the braces were a little too low and they needed to be moved after the shelf was mostly assembled this requires you to take most of the unit apart and then rebuild. I also wish the top shelf was one piece or came with some hardware to keep it snapped together. I was hoping to be able to place some bins of clothing on top and now worry a bit as to whether that will be too much for it structurally. So I am using the top instead for a few fabric bins that are light with some seasonal items, hats, belts etc. The shelves are a good dimension/size for the fabric bins I already have and perfect size for stacks of jeans and folded up sweaters. Overall I like the unit it has helped organize things a lot and does hold a lot.
