My boss tells me "Here we have a 1,000 volt power supply now. Can you test our new product? It's supposed to handle 1,000 Volts." I look back with a concerned stare. These are ordered.
While I never came in to direct contact with that voltage this particular power supply has the output leads really close to the adjustment knobs so once everything was well taped down I slowly adjusted the volt knob up to the 1000 volt limit while wearing these. Nothing blew up and I'm still alive.
The gloves are nice and thick. The large fits me just loose enough that in an emergency I could flick them off with little effort. They have a manufacture date with was only a few months old when I received them.
Very cool. I use them anytime I am working on anything electrical, especially when installing a new breaker or working with 220 AC. I still shut everything down, test it with a voltage tool, and this gives me triple protection. I guess I am just super cautious.
I already have a 600V-rated safety gloves for my occasional personal electrical projects but I figured I would need a spare just in case so I ordered the 1000V rated gloves, which came fast through UPS and well-packaged. Incidentally the gloves themselves are a little short and hide inside the leather protector when fully worn on the hands. The protectors are very soft leathers which is good but the green cloth portion is too soft which I'm not sure if its also a good attribute. Will see in actual use. The canvas carrying bag is excellent, very clean and a perfect fit. Acceptance test voltage at 5000V last Sept 2018 is quite reassuring. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase.
This was my first time ordering this type of glove. I did not really know how to size them and I wish I had gotten a bigger size since they get pretty sweaty and are then difficult to get off. I will probably get some of the powder to go inside them as well. That being said, I used them to install a new 200 amp service and didnt get shocked so they work great!!
Not bad holds up well , out of date for osha standards but other then that still not used or damaged passed air pump test and that's good for me

They are just what I needed to protect me from any rays that would hurt my hands in my work. I ordered two sizes large in order to get them off and on my hands.
Perfect for general electrical use
These are a good deal for the price. I only use them around the house so they're not subject more to 240 volts. Don't know that I would use them on 15kv.
They are surprisingly thin and comfortable. I haven't had the occasion to test if they actually work, but I suppose that's a good thing.
I like it very much, I 'm an electrician and this gloves are very useful.
