Heritage Winter Work Gloves, Size 10,

Heritage Winter Work Gloves, Size 10, Black//Tan

Heritage Winter Work Gloves, Size 10, Black//Tan

I work at a tree nursery, and we go through things like gloves and boots more so than many other trades or professions I know.

Everything we handle is wet, dirty, heavy and rough.

During Christmas season, it gets too cold to use those cheap disposable work gloves with the rubber paint coating, so I wanted something to keep my hands from turning to icicles, but would also be more rugged than a standard pair of cold weather gloves. Being waterproof was a MUST due to the fact that we work rain or shine, snow or sleet, in fact, it seems like some people prefer to tree shop in the pouring rain... And a wet tree will soak you to the bone in seconds when you have to hug it and manhandle it and put it on the roof of a car.

Pros:

IT SURViVED THE SEASON and I still use them for stuff. I think they will last several more season. The only problem I had with the durability was when I was in a rush and used my gloved hands to try and move a chainsaw blade that was gummed up (the saw was off duh, it was safe), and in my haste I gripped a sharp tooth just right and sliced through the outer layer of one of the fingers of the glove. I noticed that the inside of the glove appears to be latex or some other rubbery water resistant layer, either way even with the hole I was still nice and dry. Just put a little duct tape over it to make sure it didn't leak.

Its a TON warmer than the cotton/rubber paint ones we are used to.
WASHABLE, my normal disposable gloves can be washed, but this never seems to get them clean, they always end up stinking up to high heaven in a short amount of time.

Cons:
Grip is good, but not the best when you compare it to the disposable rubber grip. But this leather palm grip is enough that it works fine.
Hard to do small tasks like tying knots, no surprise here.
Not as warm as I had hoped, on a cold day (12 Degrees for example), these are better than nothing and certainly better than what I still use, but warmth wise I Was hoping for more. I frequently found myself pulling my fingers out of the finger parts and using the glove more like a mitten when I Wasn't using my hand for anything.. Still as I said, these are far warmer than normal work gloves, and went a long way to preventing the usual frostbite rash I get on my hands from the cold and wet conditions.

Final verdict -
I would happily buy these again for the same or similar purposes, or as part of a bugout kit that might need winter work gloves you can count on. My advice is, if these can survive one season at my job, they will likely be in great condition for the average person for years and years. Just don't expect to use these for winter sports... These are cold weather work gloves... Not something you use for a trip across the north pole :)

I'm a utility lineman in Michigan and we've have a brutal couple of months with sub-zero temps, snow and wind one day and nearly 60 degrees the next with cold drizzles in between and these are the best gloves for the season I have bought by far. Waterproof? Yes. Warm? Yes. Durable? YES!! I have spent $20 more on Mechanix winter waterproof and other similar gloves and they can't even hold a candle to these. Those other brands would fall apart with any REAL work done in them (like every other Mechanix gloves). Your hands would sweat and the liner would stick to your fingers and pull the glove inside out and would be impossible to get your fingers back in. The season isn't over yet but after 3 months of heavy use, there are no seam splits, cuts or liner slips. My hands don't sweat and they're easy on/off. The touch screen feature is for junk but I don't even care about that.

I've owned these for over four years now. The worse they've been through was two weeks of clearing brush and small trees a couple years back. During which, I thought the elastic cuff was going to give up. But they're are still going strong and the cuffs are just fine. There is nothing wrong with them. They are used solely for work. I like them well enough, I'm going to buy their farrier gloves for summer work.
This is a picture taken today after cleaning and rubbing in a bit of Obenauf's cream.

These kick ass.

I have a job that can get wet and cold depending on the time of the year. The gloves offered by Work weren't cutting it. I did some research and decided to give these a shot. I went with 10 which is considered a "Large."

I have never found a pair of gloves that were so impervious to the elements. Cold, Hot, Wet... Forget about it!

These gloves have been a lifesaver! I work outside for 8-12 hours at a time in freezing temps and the men's gloves available at most hardware stores are too big and not high quality. I've worn these in light rain and snow. My hands have stayed warm and dry. I LOVE the pocket for a hand warmer. I warm mine up 20 minutes before going outside and the gloves stay warm all day. I can do almost all tasks in them but occasionally have to take them off to work with small tools. I also keep a lighter pair of gloves in my tool belt as sometimes my hands are too warm in these. Great problem to have!

Great pair of gloves. My first impression when I got them was that they ran a bit small, but after wearing them a couple of times they stretched a little and fit perfectly. I think if I had gotten the next size up that I would have lost some dexterity. They are not the warmest gloves in the world, but are great cold weather work gloves that will allow you to complete small farm type tasks that require a degree of dexterity. So far they are also holding up well from a durability perspective. I've been using them for outside chores such as firewood work from chainsaw, to splitter, to stacking and brush cutting and removal.

Bought these for my son who works outside most of the day and needed a glove that kept his hands warm but still gave him the power to grip heavy equipment. So far he said he loves them. And the pocket section for his key or hand warmer is an added bonus.

These are the warmest and best work gloves I have ever owned. My hands always get so cold if I'm outside in the winter, but not with these. The pocket is also perfect for hand warmers if needed, although I don't use those much. They also seem to be very sturdy and holding up well even when hauling buckets and buckets of rocks and shoveling snow.

Love this glove. I received it recently and went right to work. I am in southern Minnesota and it has kept my hands warm and dry while doing stable feeding and chores. The fit is great and I am able to grasp things and work with my hands very easily. I highly recommend this glove!

This are some of the best gloves out there in term of preformance for your money for almost any job. Im currently using it from yard maintenence, gardening box handling, garage. The leather is genuine thus
as long you maintain it clean after work, and use mink oil on winter to waterproof it properly will survive for years.
