My favorite Mechanic Wear gloves. These fit well and are durable without being too thick. As they age they slowly begin to breakdown but it seems too take a long time until they develop holes.
Purchased for a building trip to Mexico and they made it through that build (2 days) plus a year of shoveling rocks and building walls at home for another trip to Mexico for a build. Now showing cracks and holes so replaced them with enough to last a few more years.
Kinda thin, but feels good on finger, good ranch gloves, bailing hay, shovelling manure, hammering in fence posts; repairing barb wire fence lines. Well broken in and still holding up.
Update, May 2016, through the ridiculous weather of Lower Mainland BC via working grounds/grounds keeper it's held up well, doesn't do well if wet, seemed to effect the strength of it, now have a hole, however this comes from 8 weeks day in day out labor...great for its price.
I bought these to replace a set of insulated gloves of a similar style. They seem to be just as durable, but not as padded as the insulated ones. This is great to get my hands in tight places, but doesn't provide much of any shock resistance when I do something such as break a bolt loose and hit my hand on something. These gloves fit very well and are easy to pull on and off with the red loops at the wrist. I was worried the elastic at the wrist might not hold them on well, but I haven't had any issues with that. Overall I'm happy with these and I will likely buy another pair once I inevitably tear them apart.
These gloves are a little thinner than the x4 pair. This is good for dexterity but I am wondering how long this will hold up compared to the other pair. The leather piece on the pointer finger is nice for screwing on nuts to bolts and handling screws and nails. It keeps your hands from being bruised with extended use which is nice.
The elastic wrist and the red pull tab are the best upgrades to the Mechanix gloves that I can mention. The only thing I would recommend is to make the red pull tab stitching not chafe your wrist at certain points. I just have to readjust the tab to not chafe. Otherwise this is a really good pair of gloves.
I get a new pair at least once a year. They are great quality, very tough and super comfortable to work in. I work in paving and equipment operation. I need to have hand protection but still have motor functions. These seem to be the best option. I can use small tools, operate equipment and even handle hot asphalt for short periods. Great value

When the job's done, just toss them in the wash for a fresh start to the work week.
I keep a couple pair around. These are about as good as work gloves get.
Although, they still tend to wear out prematurely, IMHO. The leather is good quality, but still a little thin.
They seem to run a little small, but after a few serious uses, they loosen up for a good fit. I initially thought I should have gone for the next size up, but they fit fine now. Don't let the initial fit worry you, unless you can't get them on at all!
All-in-all, great work glove. Could use a beefy-er material, but still a good glove.
I thought with these being leather, they'd be a lot thicker. The top of the hand is very thin, yet, very comfortable. The palms AR leather, but not as a robust leather as I was ex3, but a thin, soft leather. Not sure how they'll actually hold up, but bu the looks and feel of them, not very long.
Love these gloves!!!! They've outlasted 3 pairs of full grain leather gloves doing the same job. breathable, functional, better fit and you don't loose dexterity like other gloves.
My old pair of work gloves was wearing out, so I decided to buy a pair of good quality Mechanix gloves. I gave small hands. My old gloves (Grease Monkey brand) were always slightly large. I thought that if I bought a pair of small Mechanix, they would fit perfectly. Unfortunately, the small size Mechanix turned out to be the same size as my my old gloves. Talk about a disappointment. I really like these gloves. They are really well made. It is just too bad that they are just a little bit too big.
They fit perfectly. I live in a tropical climate, so heat is a big factor as I can get very sweaty palms. These are decent regarding that, but this is where the fastfit is great. It allows me to just throw them on when I'm grabbing a saw or something and pull them off when I'm done.
